“Fab place to stay with the family!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2012

Found this hotel by looking on Trip Advisor for the best-valued family hotel within walking distance of Disneyland. And boy did we find a winner. The hotel suited our kids (aged 4, 8 and 10) perfectly with a great family-friendly pirate waterworld, and another area with a deeper pool for the older kids. Our room was in building 1 which was right next to the lobby and at the front of the hotel and our room on the fifth floor. From here we could enjoy the nightly fireworks at Disneyland which was an added bonus, though you should check to find a room like 1501 or 1601 so the trees don't obscure the view. They start around 8.40pm. For food there's a reasonable minimart on the ground floor which stocks a range of foodstuffs and gifts. We bought the cereal boxes and milk which was great for the kids. And for dinner there's Mimi's right across the street which costs about $60US for a meal for 2 adults and 3 hungry kids including drinks (but not tip) which was good value. Overall, we'll definitely be back!!

Room Tip: Go for building 1, rooms 1401 or 1501.

Hojo is a wonderful 7 minute walk away from DLR! We stayed in Building 2, facing the pool and it was peaceful (except when the fireworks were on, lol).

We had some things shipped to our hotel room and although our room wasn't ready when we arrived, they held our luggage etc in a secure area.

The staff here are wonderful...they help in any way they can.

The hotel also has a great entertainment rate that can get you a room for as little as $59 a night! Super affordable especially when you are on a family budget!

Every time we go to DLR we stay with Hojo and they always help make our stay wonderful! Last time we stayed they even gave us a room with a microwave for free because there was a mix up with our reservation...no fault of theirs!

We are already planning our 6th trip to DLR and we already know who we will be staying with!

Room Tip: If you have children that need naps make sure you don't get a room with the huge window above th...

We stayed here for 3 nights in February. There was free parking and free wifi Internet. The rooms were clean - older, but clean. You could hear some traffic from the freeway, but nothing too bad because we were facing the other way. The beds were very comfy. There was a microwave and fridge in the room. We took cereal, milk and yogurt for breakfast every morning so we didn't have to buy it. We also took our own water bottles and juice boxes to Disneyland. We walked to Disneyland from the hotel and it was less then 10 minutes away. There is a restaurant right across the street as well as a McDonald's. Then just down the street towards the Disneyland entrance is a Quizno's, I Hop, Tony Roma's and some others. We went to a Cheesecake Factory for supper one night that was less then a 5 minute drive away and it was excellent. I heard there's a Target near by too for groceries or anything else. The water park at this hotel was the seller for us. It was great! We have a 2 and 4 year old and they loved it! The hot tub is also great. The service was good, no complaints. We will for sure stay here next time we go to Disneyland.

Room Tip: Get a room on a top floor facing Disneyland so you can watch the fireworks at night from your balcon...

We have stayed here many times but this is my first HoJo review. We have stayed in the suites, deluxe and standard rooms. For our last visit, we stayed in Building 1 in a standard 2 queen room on the highway side. We checked in at noon and our room was ready.

The room was clean and roomy enough for a family of 5. We didn't stay in the room all day since we were at the parks. But it served its purpose. You can't hear the freeway noise since the balcony has an additional window to block it out.

The location is great. It's a 10 minute walk to Dland. Mimi's Cafe is across the street. McDonald's, IHOP, Tony Romas and Denny's is nearby. We're annual passholders so we take advantage of the AP rates. Either enter LKAP or LNAP as a promo code to get the AP discount.

The water park is fun. Perfect for kids. There's a little game room and shop on the premises, plus there's a self-serivice laundry room. Parking is included and there are many spaces available. Even on the day you check-out, you can still leave your car in the lot while you make one last visit to Dland.

The hotel is dated and it's not fancy. But it is clean and the staff are helpful. Free wifi is included. Comfy beds. Mini-fridge. Microwaves. No resort charge.

We stayed here three nights in February 2012, and thought it was excellent. The rooms were a good size, the bed was comfortable, and the walk to Disneyland was short. There were plenty of places to eat within walking distance too.

The hotel staff I dealt with were all very friendly, and the nightly rate was pretty reasonable.

I liked the fact that there were free-to-use computers in reception, the portacot / crib was free for our young son, and the room came with an easy to use coffee machine (my wife would have liked it if tea had been supplied for the machine as well, but in fairness you could buy this from the on-site shop).

The pool area was good too, although our son was a bit young to use most of it (he was 22 months at the time).

If we were to visit Disneyland again we'd definately stay here again.

While it isn't the most luxurious hotel I've ever stayed in--there are definitely some signs of its age, in our case most particularly the cracks in the bathroom tiles, and some chipped cabinets, the staff here is so good that I would absolutely stay here again. I payed extra for a firework view room (well worth it in my opinion) and when the hallway of the first room smelled strongly of curry (not their fault, of course) they moved us to another lower down. The smell would have gone away, but we were recovering from the flu and I just couldn't handle it in the meantime. The room they switched us to was lower and we really wanted the view, so I requested a higher floor, which they agreed to let us move to a couple of days later into our 7 night stay. I mention all of this, so I can say how unfailingly patient all of the front desk help was in dealing with my pickiness, specifically Chris and Greg. Later, Daniel helped us look for my daughter's Ipod that we thought she had left behind, getting down on hands and knees to look under the beds. This was all during a very busy 3 day weekend.

The rooms themselves are nice--nothing special, but perfectly comfortable, and after years of staying in hotels where you had to take a shuttle to Disneyland, it's so nice to be able to truly be within walking distance; it just allows us a lot more flexibility. The gift shop has very reasonably priced food and drinks, and there is so much room in the way the buildings are laid out it feels more like an apartment complex than a hotel. Overall, a great place to stay when you are going to Disneyland!

Room Tip: Worth paying for the view rooms if you like fireworks.

We were delighted at the easy, short walk to the park. My husband timed it as 10 minutes from our hotel room to the security bag checkers. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were quiet. The only thing that would make the place any better was if they offered a continental (better) or full breakfast (best). But we had a microwave, coffee pot and fridge. With instant oatmeal and a banana we were out the door quickly to enjoy the park. The rooms were large and clean. Happy to have found Hojo! We will be returning!

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room and was told the rooms were sound proofed. Ours was on the sixth floor fac...
