Owner description: Greenhorn Creek Resort is located in Angels Camp, CA, the basecamp of the beautiful Central Sierra. The resort property, situated at 1,500 feet elevation is ideally situated for year round golf. In the winter, the resort is below the snow line, but above the Central Valley fog. In the spring and fall guests enjoy a picturesque landscape and idyllic temperatures. On warmer days, there is nothing better than twilight golf, with discounted rates and spectacular long evenings capped off with a vintage glass of wine or an ice cold beer; it’s a picture-perfect time to hit the links.

My husband and I decided to play golf while staying in the area. We rented clubs, bought balls, rented a golf cart and paid the green fees. It was very reasonable. It was a bargain. The clubs for me were brand new and so was the bag. The course was well maintained and not too crowded since we went during the week.

Great Golf!! Fun & challenging layout near Angels Camp Ca. Course winds through custom homes & nature areas with elevation changes unique hazards, sand, water & fast greens that keep your attention on the task at hand. Who could ask for more! except maybe lower green fees so I could play it more often :) Great full service club house, bar & restaurant.

We stayed at Greenhorn for 2 days. We loved the golf course, great condition. The restaurant wasn't bad...nor great. Some meals were quite good, others not so good.
The Wine tasting bar was wonderful, the owner very friendly. The Condo accommodations were 2 bedroom units. If you had the master bedroom with king size bed...you would be happy. If you had the second bedroom with 2 twins pushed together....not so happy.

We stayed at Wyndham WorldMark Vacation Resort which is a lovely property sitting right on Greenhorn Creek Golf Course. We had lots of nature to observe from our unit--deer, their babies, hawks and birds. The amenities at this resort are really very nice--swimming pools, hot tubs, tennis courts, indoor activities (pool, ping pong) and a 24-hour staff to assist. We golfed three times at the Greenhorn Creek Golf Course. The course was in very good shape and not too difficult to get on this time of year. The course is challenging, but fun and the staff are super friendly. Had dinner at Camps Restaurant twice and both times our meals, the service and the atmosphere on the patio were terrific. We also went wine tasting in their Cellar. Buck was very knowledgeable about the wines and the local vineyards around Angels Camp and Murphy's which made it more relevant. This was a great getaway for a week of golf, wine tasting, relaxing and soaking in the atmosphere.

Several couples went on a golf trip from the Bay Area. We played Greenhorn golf club the first day. The golf course is nicely laid out and in very good condition considering California's drought. It is certainly a course I would enjoy playing again.

Greenhorn is just outside gold country's town of Angel's Camp. Angel's Camp is one of many gold rush towns sprinkled along California Highway 49. Hwy 49 offers many interesting side trips you may want to include if you aren't pressed for time.

Not far from Greenhorn is another fine golf resort called Saddle Creek. If you are looking for a golf getaway, I believe you will find these two courses worth the effort.
