“Nice rooms, staff keep to themselves”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 September 2011

Good rooms,no elevator so be aware you may want to request a room on a lower floor. Rooms very clean, nice pool area and hot tub. Small fitness suite. A good stop over for us after Yosemite park enroute to Napa valley. Had a massive room with 2 double beds, just for the two of us!

Room Tip: Nice stop over place. Nearby shops open until 10pm at least. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi.

we stayed at this hotel on our way over from Ebbets Pass Road to Yosemite. It isn't a Yosemite Gateway hotel but for us a perfect stay before we set off next morning to the Natonal Park. Spacious room, clean and quiet. Good selection at breakfast. Can't fault it.

Room Tip: choose an internal room on the upper floor

During our recent three-week family tour of California we stayed in Best Western properties most of the time. We like the BW brand as all hotels/motels are independently owned and run so there is not the sameness that one can get with some hotel chains. Cedar Inn was the most expensive BW we stayed in during our trip.
We chose this motel because of its proximity to several "gold rush" towns and because we had planned to drive up Route 4.
Our rooms were comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was the usual American fare. The motel is located a mile or so ( too far to walk !) from the small but interesting "main street" area where there are shops and restaurants. They have an annual frog jumping competition here and the pavements have plaques to immortalise previous winners.....Hollywood Boulevard eat your heart out! We had dinner in the excellent Cruscos, arguably our best meal on this trip.
We were intrigued with some notices which management had on display in the bedrooms and breakfast area..... "price of bedroom towels, linen, etc" and "do not take breakfast food out of the hotel". Were we really welcome? Were we suspect criminals? In fairness to management they did respond to me explaining their position with tales of theft and abuse by former guests. Perhaps it's a cultural thing but we felt that the notices showed a lack of hospitality!

Stayed here for a family reunion in Murphys. Clean, spacious room with double queen beds. They don't skimp on amenities like shampoo, conditioner, or towels! Nicely located for side trips to Murphy's, Big Trees Park, and wineries.

We did what is known as the '49'er' vacation which is a trip through the Gold Country of California, along Highway 49 in the central Sierra's. This BW was located pretty much in between all the little towns we were to visit. We were glad we chose this.

The room was quite large for a King. We had a nice balcony. The pool wasn't deep (6ft?) but comfortable. The jacuzzi was clean and relaxing. The continental breakfast was quite satisfying We would highly recommend it.

The hotel exceed our expectations. Concierge was very helpful, bilingual, ready to recommend places and things to do around.
Staff was very friendly and easy going.
Place was clean, room was spacious and the pool was awesome for the kids (I went with two).
Property looks well kept. If I visit the gold towns again, I'll certainly stay there again. (really close to the Angels camp museum!)

This is a nice decent hotel. We stayed here on the way up to Lake Tahoe. The breakfast was even more that we expected. The pool was nice and clean.
