What's a bed & breakfast without breakfast?

Review of Park Victorian
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 1, 2021
I was keenly disappointed to find the week before our arrival they were not serving breakfast. Nevertheless, we brought our own food for the am and used the coffee/tea service they provide in the kitchen. The house is then about the outside seating areas as you won't be in the dining room, our sleeping room had zero chairs and the living room had no coffee table to set down anything, laptop, etc. Outside is a beautiful view over the old town and in the evening, the lit cupola of the county building. A deer wandered up to say hello as well. Biggest issue is the glass door shower in right next to the bed so there is absolutely NO privacy for showering. That's silly for even a couple. Tip: We had Old Town pizza deliver because it was blazing hot to walk down into town to eat dinner. Brought our own wine and enjoyed the patio. Very nice. PS: Couldn't get the tv in the downstairs to work either.

Gorgeously remodeled Victorian with beautiful view of old town Auburn. Laurie and Scott were amazing in their hospitality and attention to details. Worth the cost and setting is idyllic with great location within walking distance to old town Auburn and the great restaurants, cafe, shops and museums. We will be back!

We live very close to Auburn and the Park Victorian. It is becoming our favorite quick get away for the weekend. This current stay has been the best so far. Last time we were here, in Dec. of 2018. Laurie and her son Scott sat with us at breakfast and listened to our suggestions as a couple who loves to stay in Bed and Breakfast inns. What a difference 5 months makes. New beautiful Bathrobes, a water carafe at the bedside, little accessory for the bathroom, all little touches that make a difference. The beds are heavenly, the sheets are comfortable and all rooms are well designed. Breakfast to die for....The inn is walking distance to old Auburn and the views from the patio are spectacular. This is a must weekend getaway for couples. It also a great house to rent out for a family. Please visit and support this local unique inn you won’t be disappointed.

I have to use a walker. When speaking with Laurie before reserving our rooms, she assured me there was handicap access and that Chana would be a good choice. So I booked Chana and Judah for Thanksgiving night. We stopped to get our keys on the way to Grass Valley so as not to disturb the innkeepers' Thanksgiving and so we did not have to check in later.
From website photos, it looks like the entrance is up some stairs and through the parlor. Turns out the entrance is at rear, through door between kitchen/dining area; absolutely flat. I did not need to use my walker once inside room - everything was within "reaching distance". The bathroom is quite large with a bench in rain shower; modern with hot water on demand. A personal touch was the Thanksgiving card placed on the mantle. Breakfast, as stated in previous reviews, was excellent and not rushed. A fond memory is looking up from the bed and marveling at those soaring ceilings. Truly an exceptional place to stay.

This B&B was amazing!! It is such a cute Victorian style house, with unique rooms, great views, and a very relaxing and welcoming environment. Laurie saw to every detail from the moment we booked to the moment we left. We stayed there for my bday, and when we got there, I had a little cake and bottle of champagne waiting for me. Breakfast was delicious each morning. If you're looking for a unique and special place to stay, this is it!

I recently stayed at this beautiful B&B with of group of my high school girlfriends from 1968! We meet every other year somewhere different, and this ranks as one of the best accommodations we’ve had. The house fit our needs in every way. Having the whole house for our group of 9 was perfect. Host Laurie’s homemade breakfasts each morning in the spacious kitchen and dining room were delicious. The house is a short walk right-up-the-hill from quaint Old Town Auburn where we shopped and dined. I definitely would highly recommend this lovely B&B.
