What a wonderful place to stay while visiting Catalina Island. The staff is friendly and willing to make your stay there their personal concern. Room with views are amazing and the if you prefer your quiet space, the patio rooms should be just what you're looking for. The rooms are nice with a cozy appeal. The bed was very comfortable and sheets silky smooth. Everything was geared for your comfort. Great for couples, families or friends getting together. No elevator but a bellboy service is available. I will definitely make this hotel my home-away-from-home when visiting the island.

Room Tip: For the ocean view, book third or fourth floor.

Thank you for your outstanding review of the Catalina Island Inn. We love our returning guests and those who recommend us to their friends and family. This is the best time of year to visit. Savings of up to $210 off per night and our Best of Winter package which includes transportation and lodging for two people give guests lots of options. Thanksgiving, Christmas and of course the amazing New Year's Eve festivities make Catalina magical. Our tiny town welcomes the world in the summer, but the fall, winter and early spring reveal to visitors the island's secret treasures and unexpected delights. Come stay with us again soon.

Upon arriving i had a problem with the front desk. However, the supervisor was very understanding which was very much appreciated which they worked diligently to work through the problem. The stay was quite and luxurious..my room was 316.. I loved everything about my room and the stay.... i needed peace and quite... serenity...good nourishment...and long walks... The hotel is close to down town..i loved the grocery/ market next door....great prices if your a value member... the shower were a great size...and porch allowed you to be apart of the downtown action....with a view of the ocean.. I will stay again on my next future visit.

It is an island of course and at times you will have a lapse in internet... everywhere... so just focus on the island beauty...not the computer...

Room Tip: if you go during a certain time of year...rooms are 50% off

Thank you for choosing Catalina Island Inn and for having our beautiful paradise destination part of your "bucket list". We appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concerns. We always try to take care of any guest issues promptly and to everyone's satisfaction. Your understanding of Avalon's internet challenges is also greatly acknowledged. We encourage visitors to "go native" by disconnecting from the world wide web and concentrating on their adventures or rest and relaxation. We hope you enjoyed walking the waterfront and out to the Casino and Beach Club. There are also golf carts, Segways, electric bikes to rent or lovely paths to walk around on. Hiking in the interior or the hills above town always delights visitors with a new view or exciting discovery. We hope you will be back to stay with us again soon

Tastefully remodeled and decorated. Quality bedding, linens and towels. Super clean and quaint. Cozy, homey feeling throughout. Convenient location in town. I'd give it 5+ stars for the above.

Bummers: No coffee maker in the room. Continental breakfast doesn't start until 8.

Total Failure: Wi-fi Internet is slow, erratic or simply nonexistent. Their website warns you about it. They mean it. If you depend on a stable wi-fi Internet connection you will be frustrated at this hotel.

Room Tip: Call the hotel for help to select a quieter room. Some rooms on the north side overlook noisy roof fans of the market next door.

Thank you for your review of the Catalina Island Inn. We appreciate all of your great comments and for our "almost 5 stars". Like every other hotel, business and residence in Avalon we struggle with maintaining high speed internet access due to the local broad band's limitations. When cruise ship passengers and crew disembark, they are ALL on their cell phones. Summer days and busy weekends bring guests who want to stay connected as well. We all get frustrated by the slow hook up. So we encourage guests to communicate their needs and priorities to us in advance. If you have to work on the internet while here, we can suggest days and times that wi-fi won't be as slow. Guests can choose the exact room they want (subject to availability). We can put internet users in a room close to our router. We also want to hear about special occasions being celebrated, any trouble with stairs (we don't have an elevator) and whether guests need extra space for entertaining. We have King Private Patio Suites that are 460 sq ft in size with a 230 sq ft patio and Keurig coffee systems that are 50% off Sunday-Thursdays. Our island has beauty and charm, just not great wi-fi. We apologize for this Avalon shortcoming. We love directing guests to a great Happy Hour nearby, a full moon hike, the best place to watch the sunrise and other unique adventures. Let us help you plan your next island getaway soon.

We presented out Trip Advisor and Booking.com information, but the hotel had never heard of our reservation. Luckily, on a crowded weekend, they had a tiny cubbyhole room available at half the price of what we had booked. It's a nice, clean but basic hotel.
Very minimal breakfast. Our room was quiet.

Randall--
We apologize for any problems with your recent stay at Catalina Island Inn. We usually limit our Booking.com availability to Sunday-Thursday only, so it's no surprise that we had no record of your weekend reservation. Call us directly and we'll take good care of you. We have 25% off most weekends and 50% off all rooms and suites Sunday-Thursday now until March (excluding holidays). Guests can select the exact room they'd like (subject to availability). Plan ahead for the King Harbor View rooms with balconies, they sell out first. Or be spontaneous. Some guests are surprised to save up to $210 per night on a King Suite with a Fireplace and Private Patio. We hope you enjoyed the laid back island lifestyle and beautiful beaches. Summer weather lasts through Thanksgiving and beyond in Avalon. It's our pleasure to share paradise with visitors. We hope to host your again soon.

The Catalina Island Inn was the highlight of our trip. I made arrangements at the last minute due to a change in travel plans. Mark listened to my dilemma and offered room choices. He gave us the junior suite on the 3rd floor (queen bed, couches, extra tv, and amazing patio) for a wonderful price. The room was beautifully decorated and clean, the bed comfortable and fans made it cool all the time (didn't even need the air conditioning). The view from the room was great both ways...saw the harbor one direction and the mountains the other. I would highly recommend this hotel to all looking for good service at a fair price. The front desk staff answered all questions and were cheerful, professional and made us feel welcome. They answered our continual questions and gave us advice on what and where to go. I will definitely return to Catalina Island Inn. Great location and wonderful experience!

Room Tip: junior suite

Thanks Ellen & Jerry---
We're so delighted by your review of the Catalina Island Inn. We love helping guests make their vacation dreams come true. When guests call us we can give recommendations about room types, specials and packages. Our website also has great information about activities, getting to the island and restaurants. We offer great discounts and will even book your boat and taxi when you select one of our packages. Our location keeps guests close to dining, shopping, tours and attractions. The Queen mini-suite you described is a gem. Each of our 39 rooms is a little bit different and guests can choose their favorite room and return to it, time after time (but if possible, plan ahead --- Catalina is an amazing destination). We look forward to a return visit from you. We'll have your room ready.
