“Fabulous rental”

Our first reaction on entering the cottage was "we love it"! This is an absolutely adorable, charming guest home. Why would you stay in a hotel if you could stay here? This is the perfect place to stay if you want to be in downtown Apalachicola. It is comfortable, well equipped and an easy walk to all the restaurants and shops. We completely recommend it.

Liked best: How absolutely comfortable and homey it was.
Liked least: It is a great location but not scenic. That is just a virtue of where it is. The view is of a nondescript government building and parking lot. It doesn't feel like that when you are inside.

“Luxurious accommodations, charmingly appointed cottage in the heart of Apalachicola!”

We visited during the coldest weather in recent memory and were always toasty warm in the Raney. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us the option of eating in, and the close proximity to the waterfront, unique shops, seafood obtained directly from the bay, and old-town architecture afforded even the most reluctant walkers among us the opportunity to stroll slowly through this lovely old town and easily return for breaks. Staying at the Raney in Apalachicola truly is an experience of time travel to the past with all of the amenities the present has to offer! We will be returning often!

“Perfect for a getaway - homey but not home.”

Loved being easy walking distance from downtown and short drive to St. George Island beaches. The property was just right- homey but not home. Loved having coffee on the porch, walking into town for dinner, letting boys sleep in and strolling. A quick trip to the beach and then nice down time with big screen TV. We loved no wifi- a nice break for us and a bit more family focus for our offline teens.

Liked best: No wifi-great to have my teens off-line for 48 hours!
Liked least: Property location wasn't ideal. Directly across the street is civic building (with steady daytime traffic) and empty/neglected lot.
