We go here from time to time. It is consistently a high-quality restaurant. The place was packed yet we got seated right away. Waitstaff was perfect. The entrée which was the special, salmon, crab cakes and potato was just outstanding.

Consistently great.

This was only our second visit to this restaurant in over 5 years. It couldn't have been very memorable the first time or we would have returned. I cannot tell you what happened in the intervening time, but this dinner was wonderful.

The ambiance of the restaurant was superb. it had kind of a ski chalet decor, with dark woods, fireplaces and bars and booths. Our waiter, Shaq, had plenty of time for us and made no attempt to "hurry the meal along". We were meeting with friends and continuously chatted during each course, between courses and even after dinner was over.. He waited between each service even though he did not have a plethora of tables to serve -- it was his style.

As the menu clearly stated, bread was complimentary but had to be requested. What the menu did not say was that the bread was freshly baked and delicious. Resist as much as you can -- you don't want to fill up before the entree.

Each entree was plentiful and cooked exactly as ordered. My wife loved her sea scallops and I had a surprisingly good Cajun seafood fettuccine. I was surprised because that particular dish tends to have over-cooked seafood, under-cooked pasta and a sauce that is more "heat" than "spice". I prefer Cajun dishes that do not burn your mouth for 20 minutes after the dish is finished. This was cooked perfectly.

The prices were mid-range and the value was high. It will not take 5 years for us to return. (as a matter of fact, we have a reservation for next week.

This restaurant has an excellent menu that is very fairly prices. The food we were served was done exactly as requested and tasted exactly as expected. Service was very good. The only negative aspect was the night we ate here, Tuesday night, was very noisy because of large groups. So I would suggest asking about the group sizes that will be eating at the same time you are eating.

Village Tavern is a good mid-range restaurant that delivers a comfortable environment and a better than average “price to quality food ratio”.

Service associates are well informed & generally accept the challenge of recommending an entree when asked.

Menu offers a variety of well prepared offerings.

It has become a “go to” restaurant option for any/ all occasions.
