I rated this resort as low as I did due to the lack of customer service and lack of professional attitude by the dive shop. They are very unfriendly, annoyed and just dont care to help anyone out. Once under the water they are good about keeping track of individuals without a lot of hand holding but they took a new diver (dive #5) to 110 feet so he obviously ran out of air. The worst part is they did not send anyone up with him to ensure he did not have issues. And the dive master just watched him from 60 feet under the water, or so he says. That was my last dive with this resort. Safety is always first and the dive masters need to own the responsibility if someone is diving without a buddy and it is known before going under.

I would like to personally thank you for taking the time to post your comments. Diving safety is our first and foremost concern and we take it very seriously. I would appreciate it very much if you would contact us with detailed information that would help us investigate and search for facts regarding the incident to which you refer. Please email our resort director at steve@ramons.com. We will certainly address this issue with our dive staff and we thank you in advance for your help.

We stayed at the Belizean Princess across the street which is owned by Ramon's. We went with another couple and loved it! Everyone there, especially Jose, the security guard on the beach and all the waiters, especially Jack were so friendly! We walked to town and down the beach to many awesome places to eat, listen to music and shop. We loved this place and wish we were back there now!

Room Tip: The Belizean princess was directly across the street and you still get to use everything they have to offer. The only tip I would give is don't get the purple hut right next to the road because it is literally right next to the road and very noisy! Other than that, you really are not in your room except to sleep so save the money and stay here.

Yes, the Belizean Princess is the perfect solution for the traveler who wants all the amenities of a beach resort ... at a great price! We're glad you discovered our quaint little secret across the street from Ramon's Village. We hope you visit again soon.

There is no better place to stay on Ambergris Caye. We do so much research before booking, and looked at over 30 places on Ambergris and Caye Caulker. Our homework kept leading us back here. We are a couple in our 40's with 2 kids (8 and 13). We wanted somewhere nice... with a pool.. with beach... walking distance to shops and restaurants. THIS IS THE PLACE. Nowhere else offers this. The beach is great. The hotel has a lovely pool, lots of chairs to chill in. There is a great covered area between the pool and the beach to just chill. Hammocks scattered here and there. You can walk along the beach to restaurants or into town. Also, you are walking distance from the airport (or a super short cart ride). No, there is really no airport noise as the planes coming in are not massive! Yes, you can hear them sometimes.. but they are not disturbing.

Their is great snorkeling just off the pier, and you can rent gear from the dive shop. You can also just roll up and book a snorkeling or dive excursion at almost anytime. No need to shop elsewhere. We loved the sandy paths and the comfy rooms.

My only complaint (it's just a small one), is in the way in which the bar and restaurant are run separately. So, if you are outside at the restaurant you have different guys approaching you for orders and different bills to sign. You will figure it out, but it does not really make any sense. Just more work for them, and confusing for the guests.

No need to go to Ambergris and book yourself 2km up the island... only to be in the middle of nowhere.

Room Tip: Go for a Seaside Cabana!! Enjoy.

We truly feel honored that after all your pre-trip investigations you chose Ramon's Village for your family getaway. And we couldn't be more pleased that, after your stay and after seeing the other options, you are still confident you made the right choice. You are a wise traveler to do your homework in advance. Too many times, tourists arrive Ambergris Caye not realizing that their accommodations are in remote locations accessible only by boat.
We apologize if having separate tickets for Pineapples and the Purple Parrot was confusing; however, the Purple Parrot is independently owned and operated.
Thank you again for staying with us, diving with us, dining with us and relaxing with us! Come do it all again soon!

Ramon's was all around great! the location and the beach are the highlights for sure. You can walk to town in minutes. They also have by far the nicest beach. We were always able to get a chair. You can snorkel off the end of the pier and see amazing fish anytime of the day.

The restaurant was OK, we got the beach cookout one night which was good, but a bit pricey. Luckily you can walk to a million other places in a short amount of time.

The staff was always helpful and friendly. The guys at the dive shop were really great, setting up a special trip for us as well. They also jumped in after a camera that blew off the edge and helped me dry it out with the scuba tanks.

The rooms were a bit off. We stayed in room 13, it was a corner cabana and one of the few that had a TV. As there are no windows to air things out, the thatched roof rooms do have a specific mildewy smell when you first walk in. It is not noticeable after a few minutes. The only other complaint was the shower getting hot and cold as other people mentioned. Not a huge issues for me, it went away after a few minutes.

We saw a few other places during our stay and I can't imagine trading the location and beach at Ramons for any other amenities.

Room Tip: We stayed in #13. Its a Garden view room. It has a TV ( one of only 4 rooms). It is also right near the water filtration system, so there is a constant humming noise. Nothing too loud, but constant.

Chivalry is alive and well at Ramon's! I'm glad to hear the gentlemen on the Ramon's Village Divers team were able to rescue your camera.
Yes, the Ramon's pier is home to a vast array of tropical fish and interesting sea creatures, thanks to the artificial reef we built years ago from pieces of old coral, stones, relics from old ship wreckage, etc. What nature has done with it since then is truly amazing! Glad you enjoyed it. Come back to see us soon!

Fourteen of us just returned from Ramons Village the end of February and it was one of the most enjoyable trips we have ever had. Everyone that works there are like family. They truly seem like they enjoy your company and it isn't about money. There isn't a simgle one of us that wouldn't return in a heartbeat. For 6 of us this was a return visit and most of the staff remembered us and were there 3 years ago. Ramon made it a point to visit with us regularly and we all had a good cry when we left. I would like to mention that we had a soldier with us that is now a "quad" and restricted to a whellchair. When we started making reservation Ramon's was NOT handicap accessible. Our friend thought he should not come back Ramon went out of his way and said that by the time we got there he would have everything in place. He met his promises and made this a great trip for our friend.
