A friend did a whole resort take-over. It has 12 rooms, a few suites. It was affordable and a trip of a life time! You want complete peace and relaxation this is the place to be. The new owners Brian and Mary have really turned this place around and make their guests feel like home. All the rooms are oceanfront. The staff became like family. I would not suggest bringing young kids. Wi-Fi is FREE and has strong signal throughout the whole resort, even the pier and beach.

Room Tip: Room #7 has a great view! All ocean front though.

We saw this place on a TV show call Caribbean Life. The current owners bought the place in fall 2015. My wife and I wanted to go see how they were doing during our visit to the Caye. It is about 4.5 miles north of town past Captain Morgan's and Coco Beach resort. There is a small sign on the main road directing you to this family run facility. While the owner was not there during our visit (they were in town buying supplies) we had several drinks at the beach bar and the bartender Oscar was very personable. We also encountered a number of guest from nearby properties who had come for a day at the pool and lunch. The portions they received were very generous and they said the food was great. Compared to the hustle and bustle of down town this place was very quiet and inviting. The property was also well maintained and clean with a nice dock in front.

Room Tip: All rooms are ocean front

We had Suite 12, Turtle Suite. This is the most amazing resort for relaxation and personal service. If you don't want the impersonal hustle and bustle of a large resort this place is for you. Food was amazing. Staff was amazing. Chester, Omar, Mario and all the girls were like family. Brian the owner took care of all our needs from booking trips off site; like snorkeling, jet skis, massages, and even a last minute wedding! Can't wait to return. No television in your room. For me, that made my trip even more relaxing. Do take the airplane from Belize City to San Pedro. Water taxi very bumpy and long. We rented a golf cart which was perfect for going into town. You can enjoy the pool or are steps away from your own private beach. Grab a cocktail at your private resort bar on the way to the water. An amazing 7 days! Thank you everyone at Sundiver Resort

Room Tip: All rooms are great. All face the water

Stayed at the Sundiver Beach Resort for six nights. This was for a work trip (22 people in our group) and had the resort to ourselves. We had great service from the moment we landed in San Pedro till we left.

They had someone meet us at Tropic Air when we landed and took us to the dock for the water taxi ride to the resort. We had a large group and couldn't all fit on one plane so they took the first group to the resort then came back for the rest. We were greeted with beers so everyone was just fine sitting on the dock for a bit (flew in from Nebraska where it was cold and snowy). When we got to the resort (10-15 minute ride) we were greeted with a welcome cocktail and they took our bags from the boat to our rooms.

All of the meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) were great! We had a few people with dietary restrictions (we told them upon arrival) and they were able to accommodate. And, if anyone needed a snack throughout the day they would make something up for you and even left a few late night snacks in a community fridge that we had access to.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The ladies in the kitchen were great and in the morning there was very little wait time for your breakfast (served 7-9am), by the time you poured yourself some coffee and fresh juice they were bringing out a hot plate for you. For lunch (snacks served poolside at 1pm) they always had two options to choose from and would replenish as needed and was always on time. Dinner was served at 7pm or 8pm (can't remember) and we would just hangout at the Palapa Bar next to the pool and once everything was ready they would let us know.

The bartenders (Omar, Cindy and Henry) were awesome. They were super friendly, made delicious drinks, provided great conversations and were able to offer recommendations (and provide directions) on a few things people wanted to check out while in Ambergris Caye.

The grounds keeper (Mr. Chester and Eddie) and the cleaning crew were friendly as well. If you needed anything they were more than willing to get it for you or send you in the right direction. The grounds were very clean and well maintained. My room was clean and was replenished with towels and toiletries as needed and there were plenty of beach towels available for everyone by the pool.

The owners were very attentive and messaged (and called) us before the trip to make sure everything was lined up and squared away prior to our arrival (talking about meal times for the group, room assignments, special requests for the bar, etc.). Brian was at the resort while we were there and was able to line up anything else that we needed.

We have a group retreat once a year and have been to a few all inclusive resorts and I do have to say it was nice having the beach/pool all to yourself (and no kids).

It is a little bit of a drive into town (about 15 minutes via golf cart)but that did not stop anyone from venturing out and there are a few other great beach bars and restaurants nearby that were fun to visit too. A favorite stop for the group was The Truck Stop (food truck restaurant/beer garden).

If you are going to Ambergris Caye I would definitely recommend looking at the Sundiver Beach Resort, especially if you are traveling with a large group (the resort has 12 rooms). Everyone had a fantastic time!

Room Tip: All 12 rooms have an ocean view so you really can't go wrong.

We (group of 8) tried 4 times to stop at this place during our week at the Caye Villas 5Mar-12Mar 2016. My husband and finally hit it on an open day mid-week and I sampled many wonderful drinks from the friendly bartender who told us she is originally Canadian (although living in Belize many, many years now). She made great drinks and the bar had a great view. I would recommend a stop for anyone passing by.
