we loved this place! Have never been there before, looked it over via the internet and really loved the place. The people we met both guests and staff were fabulous. Very willing to help, very friendly and definitely have us hooked for another stay or two or three!

Room Tip: The downstairs units are approx. 800 sq. ft. and the upstairs units are approx. 900 sq.ft. The diff...

The accommodation is great -- condo is well appointed and comfy, pool and grounds are nice. The service and staff are good too. The water well is great for self serve drinking water.

However, be aware that a water taxi ride is the only way to get to town, and they leave about every 2hours. There are a few restaurants in the neighbourhood of the resort, but eating in town or occasionally cooking your own will definitely save $$. So you should BRING food or have it delivered by the grocery service. There is a convenience store at the neighbouring resort with a limited amount of food. There are also grocery stores in town but you have to hike the food back on the water taxi. Also, in all the stores, prices are on some of the foods but not all. Worth asking on some items but gets tiresome.

In all, a quiet secluded resort for people who want a base for doing tours from. I would not recommend for small kids as there is no real beach

Also if you are doing jungle or ziplone tours you have to go back to the mainland anyway.

This place started off on the right foot by not only providing directions and schedules to/from the Belize City ferry service but also by picking us up at the ferry dock and bringing us directly to our villa.

We had an ocean view and were only steps away from the pool with its swim-up bar. We had daily access to kayaks and snorkel gear and could spend endless hours snorkeling the barrier reef.

The resort had "golf carts" available for rent for the days we wanted to do shopping in San Pedro Town. We could also use their water taxi service, but the golf cart meant we didn't have to carry our shopping bags either.

The security was great; Nacho took the time to get personally acquainted with us and pointed out items of interest for us. He also helped us arrange tours and diving.

Prices were very reasonable, especially the in-house restaurant. I didn't want to leave; in fact, as we were sitting in the airport, I told my companion I wanted to go back and just forget about going home for at least another week.

We stayed at this resort for two weeks in February. It was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious with a full kitchen. You can go to town and get groceries and make anything you need in the kitchen. We thought it was fun to go to the well daily for fresh water. The restuarant was very good too. The recreation company in front of the resort offers fishing, they let us take the fish we caught to the restaurant and they cooked it for us, very good and fresh! I don't have anything bad to say about this resort, the beach is amazing and beautiful. Would for sure stay here again.

Room Tip: We liked the top floor, the bottom floor may be noisey.

Stayed here for 7 wonderful days and nights in February 2012. Excellent location right on the beach with great amenities. The staff was wonderful and the on site restuarant, pool with swim up bar, etc. were very good. All grounds were nicely manicured and villas well maintained. Tuff e nuff tours staff were also excellent. Nice to have a store and casino nearby with only 5 minute walk. Also nice to be able to use the amenties at the closeby sister property Coco Beach. Will definately come back and stay again.

Room Tip: Choose one of the villas close to the beach for the best views from your porch/balcony, i.e. 1-3 or...

Background:
three college students stayed in a single, lower-level room for 7 nights for Spring Break in March 2012.

Consensus:
1) Price:
Well worth the money. No complaints.

2) The room:
Spacious and clean, with every amenity we needed. The maids came daily and replaced the towels and made the beds. The room was a perfect size for the three of us. Our room was set up with a queen-sized bed in a bedroom, a living room with two couches that both doubled as queen pullouts, and a full kitchen that was connected to the living room. For reference, we were in the room 5A.

3) Location:
The location was superb for what we were doing, which was predominately scuba diving in the morning and relaxing by the pool (and especially the swim-up pool bar...) in the afternoon. Because a major dive shop ("Tuff E Nuff Tours") is situated on the Belizean Shores' dock/pier, it was literally a 45 second walk from my room to their door. Tuff E Nuff not only did scuba tours, but also was able to make us accommodations for other onshore activities. Whenever we wanted to leave the resort to go into town, there was an easy water taxi that only cost 5 USD and took 5 minutes. I am happy that we chose to stay a little bit outside of San Pedro, because even though we sometimes got the 'resort price' at other restaurants and places nearby on the beach, the safety/comfort factor was a very nice thing to have late at night, because the city gets sketchy in parts at night. The resort also had security patrolling the premises at night for added protection.

4) Demographic of other visitors:
As college students, we were definitely at the young end of the spectrum of clientele. There was frankly a little bit of everything though, from families with kids, to older folks just looking to live it up. Everybody was friendly. Also, never did I feel like there were too many people at the resort.

5) The pool:
Although, as college students, we did frequent the bar daily, the atmosphere around the pool was one of relaxation; it certainly was not a rowdy crowd. That is not to say that many of the other visitors weren't willing to do the occasional shot with us though. The pool itself is awesome, and was a huge selling point on why we chose this resort. We were not let down. The layout is conducive to letting the different types of clients do as they please without getting in the way of others. For example, the main area of the pool is separated from a back, deeper area (where the pool bar resides), by two channels of water. Though you can easily go back and forth between the two without exiting the water, I found that these narrowed areas acted as a natural barrier between the large part of the pool, where the families resided, and where those who were drinking stayed. We spent a LOT of time in the pool and have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. The hot tub also rocks.

6) The staff:
Friendliest people you will ever meet. If anyone has ANYTHING poor to say about the employees at the Belizean Shores, I will be extremely surprised. We had flawless service.

Overall:
I've never been a big fan of resorts but the Belizean Shores absolutely changed my mind. This resort rocks and I would go back in a heartbeat. I have no critiques to give the resort and highly recommend it to everyone. It is a fabulous place.
