Had to book last minute after our flights out of town were cancelled. The staff was not friendly when we checked in...but we were willing to overlook
We went to check out the “restaurant” in the casino...and were less than impressed...but we were willing to overlook...the wifi didn’t work at all in our room...we were “too far” away from the signal evidently...we were willing to overlook again...
But the dirt on the floor in our room coupled with no water...then when it was turned on...it wasn’t even warm...
Short version of the story...stay somewhere else...ANYWHERE ELSE.
You have been warned
I would rate it lower if I could...

When You book a chain hotel you expect some kind of standard. This Belize City Ramada cant fill those. Hotel needs large overhaul and quick. Seems to be reasonable busy with travelers. Air con was noisy. Check in staff was nice and friendly and breakfast was much better than the building.
Pool area was dull. After renovation this could be very nice place.

We stayed at the Ramada for two nights, at the end of our two week vacation to take in some of the city. Our room was clean, and the food was reasonable. Most staff were friendly, and when we had an issue with our door card reader, maintenance went out of their way to get to fixed quickly. My impression is that this is a hotel trying to be all things to all people, and it impacts the quality and guest experience. If you're looking for somewhere to stay to check out the city, it's a good choice, if you're looking for this as a resort stay, it may not meet expectations.

Room tip: Ask for something on a higher floor away from the casino and nightclub

Flight out of Belize City got cancelled so airline put us up there. Although the hotel managed to accept about 40 passengers, that’s where the loving stopped. This building appears to have been built in stages over the decades. They say they are renovating...maybe bulldozing first would work best. Our room was at the faaaar end of a narrow, uneven hallway. No wifi...it would not reach that far. No telephone, they say they are upgrading. No hot water...I mean NONE. The “buffet meal” that accompanied the airline comped room was sparce, overcooked, and cold. To be fair, the early breakfast buffet was plentiful and hot. This hotel spends a lot more attention to its bar and casino than the rooms. If you want to gamble, stay elsewhere and commute.

Room tip: If you must stay, ask for a room NOT at the far end of a hallway.
