Three Iguanas Villa
Reviewed 16 March 2011

My Husband & I met up our friends & Eldest son & his fiancée. Our friends stayed on the top floor, which was called the crow's nest. We stayed on the second floor with the king size bed, our own balcony & bathroom. Our son & his fiancée stayed in the honeymoon room, as I called it. It consisted of a double bed with a beautiful bathroom inside the room. It also had a balcony with a hammock. The kitchen was spacious, clean & modern. The living room was cozy. The view was spectacular from the pool area. The patio outside the kitchen & living area also has a beautiful view. We swam in the Lagoon. It was clean & shallow. We also rode the bicycles to most places. Everything was in walking distance of the restaurants, shopping, beaches, banks, grocery stores etc. The native people were friendly & pleasant, never pushy. There was always something to do if you wanted to or you could relax & chill out & read a good book under the thatched hut. We had a great time with our friends & son & his fiancée. Of course 1 week is not long enough, so next time will have to stay longer @ The 3 Iguanas. It was certainly Top Notch!

I had a perfect time in your beautiful Villa this June 2010. The house has perfect proximity to Placencia Village. Each and every floor is beautifully appointed and the third-floor view from the pool of the canals in front and back, and water to the west requires visiting it at all times of the day to thoroughly enjoy it.

Stefano is the icing on the cake, as he makes the experience of Three Iguanas as perfect as it could possibly be. He is incredibly helpful, nice and charming. If you have a question he has an answer. If you need assistance with something he will help.

There is only problem with Three Iguanas. No matter how much time you spend there -- it will not be long enough!

It was our first visit to Belize. We went with another couple that had been before but the first time at the Three Iguanas. Three Iguanas Villa is a beautiful place to stay. Just by coincidence, I'm sure, but we actually saw three Iguanas sunning on the dock the first day we were there. The villa is on the lagoon side but just a couple of minutes from the beach, We went bicycling and snorkeling at the beach several days while we were there. Stefano and Sofia, the caretakers, were very friendly and helpful and always available. Placencia is a small town, but with lots to do. They seemed to know everyone and all of the places to go. The local sailboat captain, Jeff, who lives just a few houses down, will pick you up right outside your door for a snorkeling/fishing excursion or a sunset sail, which we did both. He can also arrange a fishing trip in the Carribean from your back door which we also did. The villa also has a great kitchen and barbque grill that we used a lot. We had a great time and I highly recommend it.

The Three Iguanas villa is a lovely well furnished and well cared for place to stay. The Villa actually splits into 3 units and we stayed in the 2 bedroom 1st floor apartment. The apartment had eveything we needed in the kitchen (as we did some self catering) and when the weather wasn't great there was a TV and DVD player in the large living room. The bedrooms have lovely furniture/decor and sumptuous bathrooms. On the roof terrace there is a plunge pool which had fabulous views to the Mayan mountans and across Placencia. We visited during hurricane season and felt comfortable to book as there is a refund clause in the contract should hurricanes hit ( they v rarely do). However we happened to be staying when Hurricane Richard hit Placencia in Oct 2010. The villa is well equipped to deal with this, with strong shutters and gas cooking facilities but most of all the villa manager Stefano could not have been more helpful. We were well prepared with water, candles and flashlights and Stefano made sure that we felt safe and informed on the days running up to the hurricane and on the day it hit. The hurricane passed and we were comfortable and safe. Overall Stefano and Sofia ( the housekeeper) made sure that our visit was easy and we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend Three Iguanas if you want somewhere comfortable, upmarket but relaxing to stay whilst you visit Placencia. I will definitely be heading back there this year. I have spent a lot of time in Belize and this is one of my favourite spots.

Three Iguanas is an upgraded house with 3 different levels available for rental. We stayed on the large middle floor. The house was very clean, everything was in working order, views were beautiful. Canoes were provided for our use, though we didn't get around to jumping in. There are also bicycles available which we rode into town multiple times to eat and buy groceries. Stefano, property manager, along with housekeeper, Sofia, were really teriffic! Stefano is an upbeat, happy-go-lucky Italian who is livin' a dream in Belize. He knows everything about the locale and is ready and willing to share and help in any way possible. Sofia can be seen throughout the day as she lives on the bottom floor of the house. She is very friendly and more than willing to help. Great place to stay!

Our family of 6, including four kids aged 9-18 stayed at Three Iguanas over Thanksgiving, 2010. We rented the entire villa, which has 5 bedrooms altogether so each child had his own room and bathroom. The teenagers stayed on the ground floor, where the rooms were more like studio apartments. Sofia, the onsite housekeeper, and Stefano, the manager of the place, were both easily available and very helpful with tips about the town, trips to take, and generally enjoying ourselves. We'd go back in a heartbeat--the best trip we've taken as a family.
