The cabana was great. Very clean. Bugs are always an issue at such places, though. ery friendly owners, they allowed us to check-in late at night when we arrived. They also had a summer special, and was very economical. It is also located on the lagoon side, so very quite. Enjoy your morning coffee with the view of the lagoon.

My daughter and I spent 2 nights here and I have to say the staff are so friendly! Selina was accommodating, kind and made us feel at home. We stayed in a cute little cabana that was well equipped with a queen bed, and a well stocked kitchen. My only complaint is that there was no air conditioning! Being that it is summer in Belize it is Hot Hot Hot! If you are not used to the heat do not choose this type of accommodation. There are units with a/c that you could choose instead. We had 2 floor fans and a ceiling fan but still found it difficult to sleep.

We rented a golf cart from Captain Jak’s and toured the northern part of the peninsula. Selina recommended we go to Belize Ocean Club which is a lovely resort on the ocean with a great pool where we spent a few hours enjoying a drink, the view and cooled down. bicycles are also available to rent. We also booked the Monkey River Tour with Percy and that was a great day looking for howler monkeys, crocodiles, watch the manatees and see the rivers and mangroves. Bring your bathing suit and a towel as you can hop into the river or ocean to cool down.

Captain Jak’s is on the lagoon side. It has a wonderful dock to watch the sunset or just watch people living on the river move about.

Captain Jak’s is located near the north end of the village right across from a supermarket and beside a coffee/smoothie shop. It is an easy to walk (or bike) to the village along the road of watch 2 minutes to hit the sidewalk and walk that way. Very Good location!

Laundry services are available for $15bz a load.. cheap !!

We would definitely return to Captain Jak’s in a unit with a/c. Thanks for your hospitality!

Great day outside Placencia Belize- Booked an all day snorkeling and fishing adventure for a family of 8. Good email response time. Arthur and his crew were great. Brought us to a private small island with a reef for prime snorkeling. Lots of hammocks, coconuts and a great lunch provided. Guide went with us snorkeling to show us around the reef areas and assist with the novice snorkelers. Great addition. Other guide took two of us out fishing. Got a few right off the bat. Baracudda too! These guys are super into what they do- great fishermen, very knowledgeable of the area, very personable to enjoy a conversation and share stories. Would choose them again for sure.

We stayed at Captain Jak's cabanas for 5 nights to kick off our Belize holiday and it far exceeded expectations. The cabanas are perfectly stocked with everything you need for a basic beach holiday- we were able to make breakfast and pina coladas to enjoy on our porch. Sitting outside the cabana in the morning was lovely, or down by the dock watching all the boats in the sun or under the shade in the hammocks. One of the lovely workers was chopping down fresh coconuts one day and came and delivered one to all the cabanas. We enjoyed playing with the resident parrot and rabbit. And was the perfect location for restaurants and the local bars. But best of all is Arthur and Silena who are currently managing the cabanas. They are amazing! We booked a private snorkel tour for all four of us to Laughing Bird Caye and both Arthur and Silena were our guides. Arthur is amazing boat captain and extremely knowledgable about belize and the reef and took us on two guided snorkels. Silena is just lovely and very helpful. We also booked a golf cart and drove down the peninsula and that was such a breeze as well. We were able to get our laundry done. Just everything we needed they could do! They are very friendly and helpful and can give so much info to make your time in Placencia a success. Completely recommend these cabanas if you want a real Placencia vacation.

This was not our first trip to Placentia, but actually one of the nicest thanks to Captain Jak's. Just a lovely little cabana on the lagoon side of Placencia. The grounds were lovely and the cabana was very clean. You have a propane hotplate, fridge, and most cooking utinsels, so almost a full kitchen. We have never stayed on that side of the peninsula before. Always on the ocean side. It was quite windy this trip so the water was really choppy and riled up so there wasn't much swimming. But at Captain Jak's it was a lot less windy and oh so very quiet!. Every one at Captain Jak's was so friendly and helpful. I will defiantly stay there next time.

Room Tip: At Jak's there are 3 small cabanas, maybe a family sized cabana, and at least one apartment they rent long term.
