There is no denying the majestic view of this hotel, but everything else was a disappointment. Our party of a couple dozen professionals arrived with some sandwiches we purchased on the bus trip. We tried to eat our food near the pool and were immediately admonished by staff about bringing in outside food. I asked for the manager and complained that we were being treated like criminals for trying to self-nourish after a long bus ride. He stated liability and safety issues for the no outside food policy. He was very unapologetic and condescending. He stated he had a 5 star hotel and that he had a lawyer background. Interesting that his 5 star hotel lacked hot water in the showers at times, had a lukewarm hot tub, and flies in the garden biting our ankles. On our first morning, we opened our doors to the wonderful smell of insecticides that was just recently sprayed on the grounds. Our rooms did not have a drinking water dispenser; we found out some rooms had this in their rooms on our last night. Complimentary coffee for about 30 minutes in the morning and then the staff starts wagging their finger at you. One very nice waitress (and decent food, but not 5 star), but everyone else snobby. I could go on and on...
