Thank you, Albert, Kristen, Irma, Joe, and interns! You guys rock! You gave us a fantastic experience- lots of diverse diving, accommodated our diving levels well, and gave us a lot of great laughs and stories. We'd love to come back!

The reason our group chose this spot was the promise of being picked up by boat on our nearby dock every morning, before heading out for some dives. Our first impression was pretty good as they had everything ready for us when we arrived and did indeed pick us up on our dock. The first day of diving was pretty nice, as the boat was uncrowded and some fresh fruit/water was offered between dives, which is nice to have after burning all of that energy underwater.

The winds changed though during our stay and instead of getting picked up by boat, we had to load up our gear and drive over to their shop, before being bussed over to the south side of the island. Weather is weather, so you just have to roll with it. But the overall service declined as they seemed more interested in packing the boat than catering to your dive experience. There were no snacks/beverages offered the rest of the week, no rinse tanks on board for masks/cameras just a general since of disorganization. The dive masters were friendly, but they seemed more concerned with killing Lion Fish (I know, important), than giving our group a solid experience. There were other divers breaking rules like wearing gloves, moving coral, startling fish and doing things that just shouldn't happen on a guided trip and the dive masters seemed to ignore it. For those of use with rental equipment, it was pretty beat up (minor leaks, etc.), but obviously we made it home safely. The boat itself looked like it could have used a little TLC, which isn't a big deal, until you pack it with as many humans as possible, making thing a little more crowded than ideal.

We got a tip from a nice couple we met from Atlanta to try a different dive outfit on our last day, which we ended up doing. I wish we would have done so sooner, because their boats were top notch, they had everything on board you'd expect and it was just the 4 of us with an excellent dive master - a completely different experience.

The weather certainly caused the issues with not being able to be picked up by the boat, but the lack of quality service and equipment was underwhelming. I'd check some recent reviews to see if they have turned things around, as we did share our thoughts with them when we paid up.

Thank you for providing us feedback directly when you checked out and for taking the time to write this review. We strive to provide the same service you receive at our shops on the North side when we have to go to the South side due to weather. The number of dive boats available during a storm is limited, especially if the storm comes up quickly, but you should have been made aware of that before you went out so you could make an informed decision if you wanted to go out diving. Your comments were very important to us in November when you went diving with us and the managers reminded the crew about the standards we should be providing such as rinse tanks on boats and fresh water and fruit on all boats. It is an expectation of both the management of Subway Watersports, and the Roatan Marine Park, that our Divemasters encourage divers to follow good environmental practices such as not touching coral or disturbing fish. Divemasters will talk to guests about their underwater behaviour in private so as not to embarrass them in front of other guests. We will follow up with our staff to make sure this is happening as reef conservation is important and essential to all in the dive industry. All our boats are well maintained and safe but yes some paint is needed. One of our boats was already out of service for a rebuild and painting during your visit and it will be back in service shortly the others will follow suit during the reminder of the year.

We visited Turquoise Bay Resort because we loved Roatan and our last couple trips we were not happy with a couple other well known resorts. Turquoise Bay Resort exceeded our expectations and we plan on going back next year. The resort was comfortable, very clean, food was very good, and the staff was extremely friendly.
The dive shop was the best I’ve ever used. I have been diving for over twenty five years, most dive shops want to hold you back to the newest diver, they adapted to every diver and the boat staff was fantastic. We had divers from novice to instructor and they let us dive based on our abilities. I look forward to going back.

You have a good running operation, My only tips would be to make the night dive later and dont do Underground not much to see get on top of the reef. Everyones relaxed and cooperative attitude made this a relaxing trip. I especially enjoyed the lionfish removal. Get more spears. Either you or the resort should consider getting a golf cart to assist handicapped or elderly divers from their rooms to the shop. We will be back everyone on the trip voted to return many said it was the best all around trip they ever had.

The people of Subway are what make it special. Attention to customer needs and particular preferences appear to be their specialty. "Friendly" is an understatement; people get to know you by name and it was apparent that they truly enjoy their customers and sharing the undersea world of Roatan.
