Pros: beautiful villa. Well equipped kitchen with amazing Bosch appliances, great plunge pool, beautiful views. Quiet and serene. Service was great and staff are very attentive. Without question the only 5 star accommodation on the island. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked amazing. The pool and beach area are gorgeous and well maintained.
Cons: reef is not close enough to swim out to so you will need to pay $35/person to be taken out to the reef. Once you get there though it is totally worth it since the reef is less damaged than in west bay and there's a ton of life. Also be sure to wear bug spray because there are sand flies on the beach and you do not see them.

Thank you for your TripAdvisor review.
We are pleased there is so much you loved about your stay at Pristine Bay: the luxury villas, great staff, our pools and amenities. We really can’t do much about the location of the coral reef, but there are plenty of fantastic spots all around the area to snorkel. The reef naturally will attract different kinds of sea creatures to observe.
Insects are indeed a way of life in the tropics, and we also recommend insect spray if you’re prone to being bitten.

Thank you for your TripAdvisor review – it’s appreciated.
We think our resort should try and to compliment the beauty of Roatan as closely as we are able to. It is such a magnificent island paradise.
We thank you for your kind words and hope you will come to see us again soon.

great golf course, awesome caddie!
Wicked bugs! Never have i been eaten sooo alive!
Marignal food - actually threw up at the table with bad fish
decent drinks, slow service....
nice condo with plunge pool, but in the shade 24/7 what's the point?
The only reason to go there is to golf!

We certainly have all of the components you could want out of a vacation right here on site: luxury accommodations, sumptuous restaurants and first class health and fitness facilities. And as you have experienced, our sparkling staff are here to help make your stay special.
We take steps to mitigate insects, however on a small tropical island they are a way of life, and their numbers do fluctuate at different times of the year.

We stayed in a two bedroom villa overlooking the Carribbean and golf course. Free airport transport was timely on arrival and departure. The staff was always friendly. The golf cart was delivered to our villa promptly, and worked very well the whole week.
Our primary interest was golf and the Black Pearl course is beautiful, very well maintained, a great challenge, and has great vista of the Sea and hillsides. Amazingly, the week we were there, we never had to wait to tee off, and generally averaged a 4 hour round for the 4 of us. One of us played on the last day in 2 hours! (Starting at 630am). For our week, we did not rent a car, but alternated between Aqua restaurant at the Beach Club and the Las Verdanas Hotel restaurant, both of which were very good and reasonably priced. We spent afternoons by the Beach Club or Hotel pools, and once took a one hour snorkeling excursion with Mike to the nearby shipwreck which provided a wide variety of beautiful fish and coral. The weather cooperated - 80's and sunny six of our seven days on the Island. I had only one mosquito bite, which I did not notice til I was on the plane. In general, our party didn't notice bugs any more than on any other Carribbean trip. Pristine Bay is also very well maintained in general, and very private, with a gated entryway. In sum, we had a great time, and thank the Pristine Bay staff for their care.

Room tip: The further away from the Beach Club, the steeper the hills (and of course, the broader the view of the course and Sea.)

Thank you for your TripAdvisor review.

We are so pleased to hear you loved your stay at Pristine Bay. Our entire team want to share our piece of paradise on beautiful Roatan, with the world. We’ll just have to do it family by family.
We truly believe that there must be outstanding value in a vacation, even at the luxury level, and we believe we offer that each day at Pristine Bay, and we see you agree.

Our Pete Dye course is magical, and while championship level, the most difficult part of a round is trying not to just stand there and stare at the magnificent views!

We hope to see you again, and bring as many golfers as you’d like!

We stayed a Pristine bay in a one bedroom condo. It was nice but I certainly would never buy one. I found the lighting to be absolutely awful as the ceilings are vaulted and the lights are way up therefore you had to turn on every light in the rooms to be able to see anything. One time when I wanted to use the oven I had to get my flashlight in order to see how to turn it on. The bathroom while roomy was very dark. My other problem with the condo is that we had ants big ones in the bedroom and tiny ones in the living room. They had bug spray but I used it all up the first night and it was never replaced to keep combating them. My only other problem was that it was far away and it seemed like you went for miles just getting in or out of the resort. I felt like there was a lack of information given about the pool and beach as I saw neither until I was checking out. Everyone was very nice but I would not stay there again.

hank you for your recent stay.
We’ve never had any feedback about lack of light in our suites, as they are full of windows, and the additional lights throughout the villa are ample. We would have liked to have had contact from you when you were on site so we could have investigated your particular situation. We’re also surprised to hear you didn’t receive a proper orientation of our spacious grounds. We regret this took away from your full enjoyment of your luxurious accommodation.
We hope you will return and enjoy all that is Pristine Bay.
