When I first mat Tax, in Utila, Hondouras, he told me his last student hold is breath for 5 min and 17 sec
At first I was amazed I didn't thought something like this is possible for normal humans, and my personal best was 2:30 min.
In my 3 day Tax was relax with me like it's not a big deal to hold your breath, I just closed my eyes Imagine cool things and hold my breath, and I gat to 5 min and 27 sec.
more that I could ever dreamed on doing.
FreeDiving is just one of the best experienced I did in my life
and I'm running swimming hiking scuba-diving surfing, but FreeDiving take it all by a long shoot.
Take a chance, It's not only for superman's like me :) almost everybody can do it

I wanted to try freediving in Utila after speaking with some Australian surfers on my travels. They told me of how the course teaches you how to dive deeper and hold your breath longer. I figured these would be handy skill to have for some of the other watersports I'm involved in and signed up when I arrived on the island. What I discovered was a whole other sport I quickly became hooked on.
Tex is an amazing instructor (the only freediving instructor in the Bay Islands), a very down to earth guy who is really encouraging and helps get the best out of everyone. With a good instructor and the right attitude, freediving is something anyone is capable of doing.
As soon as I finished the beginner course, I signed up for the advanced freediving course straight away. After two days I was diving to 25 meters, and as deep as 38 meters by the end of the advanced course.
I headed to Utila for a week of scuba diving, and ended up staying for two weeks of freediving. Scuba diving took a back seat and became the other activity I did when I wasn't free diving.
I would highly recommend the freediving course with Apnea Total Freediving, Utila. After traveling through all of Central America the two weeks of freediving are without a doubt some of the best parts of my entire trip. I've discovered a new sport and hope to do lots more freediving in the future.
Here's a few pics of one of the days of my course:

I did all my freediving courses with Apnea total in Utila it was perfect place to learn freediving. Tex the instructor thought me so much and I have him to thank for how much I improved. He also taught me yoga that was useful for freediving.
When we went out I always felt really safe and could concentrate on diving deeper.
There's also a big wreck at 30m that is amazingly fun to freedive.
I highly recommend Apnea Total Utila for anyone who wants to learn freediving or more skilled freedivers who want some quality training in clear warm water.
