The Pololu Valley Lookout is a great stop at the end of the road, past Hawi (prn. Ha-vee). The view looking down on the beach below makes for a great photo with the rugged coastline in the background.
Follow the short 20 minute trail down to the beach, but remember proper footwear (something with support - NOT flip-flops), because the steep, rocky trail demands that you watch your footing at times.
The black sand beach at the bottom is a great place to hang out and the cliffs to the left of the beach (as you look out towards the ocean) is a great place to look for all kinds of critters clinging to the rocks as the tide goes up and down.
