All of the staff at this facilitiy were friendly and accomodating. The unit we stayed in was clean and well maintained. We can not comment on suites that haven't been upgraded as to there state of cleanliness but ours was great. I must say though, while this is a very large complex with so much to maintain, I am impressed with the extent of their maintenance and care they take on keeping this massive pool impecable. Each morning not only are they vacuming the pool but cleaners scrub the sides of each pool entry point, the hot tub and scrub the deck with a floor machine. I was pleaed to find that the laundry was free as well as the Internet connection. As there are many families with grand parents one can hardly expect to see longe chairs empty on those georgeous sunny days.

Regarding the rollaway/sofa, I disagree with the revewier that refers to them as hard and uncomfortable. The dense foam mattress is absolutely fantastic for those of us that are middle-aged and suffer from back issues created by a mattress that is too soft. These units have been made exclusively for the Diamond resort and are exceptionally comfortable. I am not a time-share owner so I'm not trying to sing the praises of the resort but give you my honest opinion of our experience.

Each morning there are exercise classes for th fitness-minded and evenings cocktails are halo-priced during happy hour. Groceries are easy to aquire as one just needs to walk across the street.

Staff was super friendly and helpful but building is run down and filthy. Hallways were very dirty and room carpet looked disgusting! KBC needs to clean up their act to get up to the standards that were there when it was an Embassy Suites Hotel! Our kids used a rollaway cot which was as hard as the floor. No place to hang wet swimsuits and No extra outlets to plug in computers and phones. Our lanai used to have plants on it but now just dirt and cigarette butts cover the space. Bathroom was large and kitchen was adequate. Property was large but never enough places to sit by the pool or by the beach. We noticed several people from other hotels using KBC's pool and grills which left guests with nothing. We have been here 4 times and each time the experience gets worse...don't think we will be coming back.

Room Tip: We had a corner room in the back (scenic) which was great because we had a view of the mountain and the ocean.

Thank you for visiting us in Maui! It's great to hear that our staff left a good impression on you.
We regret that you were unhappy with the state of the building; however, we are currently under renovation for this reason. All carpets will be changed out this year in addition to adding additional outlets and table lamps throughout the suite.

Security on property monitors the BBQ grills and pool areas daily. The planter boxes were removed 3 years ago due to the maintenance and upkeep required. Their cleanliness should not be an issue and your comments regarding them, the carpets, and the hallways, have been forwarded to our Housekeeping team.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We hope you'll choose to share your vacation with us again and enjoy the changes that we are in the process of implementing!

On the evening that we got to Ka'anapali Beach Club, we were informed that there was a booking problem with time share rentals, and they had overbooked some rooms. We were told that we had been rebooked and upgraded to the Honua Kai Resort & Spa. It was located just around the corner. We were not disappointed, it was a newer resort, the condo could not have been any greater, the cleaning, maintenance crews and staff were great. Christina Budrow at Ka'anapali Beach Clup took great care of us with this situation, we all make mistakes, I don't think that President Obama could have been treated any better, the staff and the great guys at the door were very sorry and they regretted what happen. Yes, if we return, I would stay at Ka'anapali Resort. Thank you again for seven great days and making this a great trip for my wife and I.

Considering the price doubled from what we paid for a one bedroom unit using a discounter we felt we got a good deal. Huge property nicely located in kaanapali section of Maui with a spacious bathroom. The kitchen was not a full size kitchen rather more of a kitchenette. No stove per say but whop plays to cook when they are on vacation in Maui anyway? Use the BBQ grill downstairs. Or like 90% go out to eat.

We found this on vrbo. When we checked in, we were directed to a second desk, which turned out to be the concierge-sales desk. Upon arrival, our plan was to lay in the sun for the remainder of the afternoon. We were hijacked into listening to activities options and a pitch to attend a timeshare meeting. By the time we were settled in our room, the sunshine was turning into the sunset. We ended up booking our sunset/appetizer whale watching outing through concierge for $136 for 2ppl. Later realized we could have had it for half the cost. The room, 716, was large and well equipped, though the decor is dated. The service/trash department is below & quite noisy. If the bed had been placed on the opposite wall we would have had the ocean view instead of the mountain view. You had to crane your neck on balcony to see the ocean in this ocean view room. This place is average. We would not stay here again because we do not want timeshare sales pitches on our vacations. This is the one & only time we stayed at a timeshare. The luggage & maid carts clickety clack on tiles in the hallways.
