Booking - I had booked a Basic Double bed private Ensuite, but it wasn't totally ensuite as the toilet is in the laundry room opposite our room. It was more cramped than we imagined and after a 30-hour journey, all we wanted to do was just rest. Zeko was in high spirits and joked around, but we did not appreciate the jokes and banter as we were super tired. We had to make do with the tiny room that night.

But the next day as we were getting ready for our tour to Chefchaouen (which we arranged ourselves), Zeko said they would transfer us to a more comfortable room by the time we get back. When we returned in the evening, they had kindly upgraded us to the Luxury Quadruple Room much to our surprise. The room was beautiful and spacious for the two of us! However, the shower was a bit faulty (only hot water, no cold water) and it took about 1 hour for Mohsin to get the plumbers to come fix it.

Breakfast - The breakfast on the rooftop terrace is delicious! The lady served us with a smile and it was an amazing spread.

Wifi - strong

Location - conveniently located in the middle of the old Medina of Fes. Shopping and dining is very convenient.

This place is not suitable if you can't climb small winding stairs, unless you get the room at the ground floor.

Room Tip: Accessible to the medina

The Riad staff are like family; waking up to generous breakfast by Azizah, greeted by Sukaina, the ever helpful Zakaria (there are 2!) and Muhsin. The extend of their help was beyond their job scope- they sent us to the train station at midnight,of course, the friendly resident dog, Mabsoudah made it difficult to leave.

Room Tip: If you would like to wake up to the panoramic view of Fes, choose a higher level room.

The riad is a little bit hard to find as the entrance is in the alley. The riad is beautifully decorated. Despite little problem during check in, it was eventually settled with agreement of the booking website and the riad's manager. The room is spacious and the breakfast is great too.

The location of this Riad is perfect, just a few meters off the main street in the heart of the medina - Talaa Kbira - the terrace is spotless and it has a great view. A splendid breakfast, too. The staff is accommodating and understanding, the rooms are super clean, the shower has hot water and the wifi is perfect. What else does a traveler need to be happy? oh yes! the downstairs patio (pix) which is a jewel. Fez does the rest if the charm!

This place is the perfect balance of price vs value. Upon arrival at 10pm, they met us at Ain Azlitan and had our bags delivered (always have a few dirhams for tips). We were 1 woman, a Gramma and 2 young boys. Moroccans respect and love women and children so the two Zaks of the Riad will care for your needs (you might have to remind them a couple of times but ure on Morocco time and shops only open around 10am). Room #3 was a couple of storeys up, but it's the best rooms (don't expect elevators anywhere in Morocco). It was the family room with bath, which was clean and the right size. Closet with safe, bathroom with bidet, couch with coffee table and TV, large (hard) bed and a bunk bed. It's really hot in Fes during August/September so we had the air conditioning running all week at 25. Breakfast was just perfect (but we usually bought fruit and water bottles in the Medina). I booked a 4hrs tour thru TripAdvisor for $40 CND and discover ure own restaurants close by. The rooftop terrace was my favorite evening hang out playing cards. Call the Riad after you email them. Thx Ziko and see you in a few years.
