Now, grant it, we were only in Fes for three days, but, from beginning to end, the hospitality and experience was incredible. Imane and Mohammad welcomed us with open arms and sat with us for a while to drink mint tea and chat a bit. They said we were like family, staying there, and it truly felt that way. The dinners were the best we had in Morocco - the chef is incredible! I would stay at this riad again based on the dinners alone. Our room was perfect - hot showers, some English TV to fall asleep listening to and watching, free bottled water in your room, beautiful antiques throughout the room and riad, huge towels, functioning heater, comfortable bed. You hear the call to prayer in the morning, although it's part of the experience and is kind of nice to hear. My husband slept through it two out of the three nights and there is a mosque right across the street. And the oranges in Morocco this time of year! They're the best, and the riad just had a bowl of them sitting out for us to take whenever we wanted. Mohammad and Imane coordinated everything for us - for transfers to the train station to a tour to a drive to another town. They made our stay easy and stress free. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who wants to feel like they're staying with long-lost family while on vacation.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 304. It's right by the mosque but I'm sure you hear the call to prayer from every room in every riad.

It's a beautiful riad, with a very welcoming host. When we mentioned we wanted to visit the tanneries, the owner drove us to the other side of the medina. Peaceful location within a 10 minute walk of the Blue Gate area of the medina.

Stayed here based on a friend's recommendation for a week with my wife and 2 year old. We were greeted with a pot a fresh hot mint tea and Moroccan biscuits on arrival. The room was nice, clean and cosy, if not a little small for the 3 of us. The shower was hot and the room cleaned daily. Breakfast was freshly cooked every morning, tasty and filling.
Once you find your way around, the location is ideal, a few minutes walk from 'Bab Ziat' meaning taxi's can drop you off almost outside the Dar. The walk to the Medina is around 10-15 minutes through little alleyways. The location is quiet, with the only sounds coming from the local mosque and the beautiful call to prayer.
However, the main selling point for Dar Fes Medina are the staff, Muhammad and Imane. They went out of their way to make our stay in Fes enjoyable. They were always on hand to offer advice and help us whenever required. Even when we decided to make a last minute trip to Tangier, they explained to us the various options for travelling.
After the week stay, Dar Fes Medina felt like home and Muhammad and Imane felt like family. If I was to return to Fes, I would definitely make plans to stay at Dar Fes Medina again.

Stayed here for three nights in December with my wife.

To start, we had our own hire car and the location of riad is great, turn into Bab Ziat and it's the second street on your right. Plenty of street parking within metres @ 20dh per night.

I would recommend that you have dinner at in-house at least once. The food is great and better quality than the restaurants in the tourist strips.

Complimentary water, tea and juice as you please. Strong wifi connection, compared to other places we have stayed at in morocco.

The room itself is more than sufficient, but with so much to see and do - rarely spent much time there.

Finally - Mohamed, Imane and the rest of the staff are great. They leave no stone unturned in ensuring a pleasant stay.
