We stayed here for three nights after a 3-day Marrakech to Fez desert tour. We were late arriving because of rain and washed out roads coming through the mountains. When the information from the riad says to park at the car park and someone would come out to meet us and lead us to the riad, I thought it would be an actual parking lot. Silly me. It was just a street wide enough for cars to park on, both head in parking and parallel. Because we were late, Latifa, who I had been corresponding with had gone home and a young man came out to meet us. There was another man who came and loaded our bags on a cart to take them to the riad. We were a bit hesitant since we didn't quite know what was going on so we asked our driver to accompany us, which he did. Well, it all turned out fine. The young man was one of the riad staff, and the other man who loaded our bags worked at the car park.

The riad is beautiful! It is a small traditional riad with a beautiful lobby and 6 sleeping rooms. There were six people in our party so we had three of the rooms. The bathroom in the first floor room had a sewer backup smell so we asked to change rooms and were accommodated. The rooms were all well-appointed and comfortable. The lobby area was a comfortable gathering place for us, and we got the best wifi signal there. The rooftop terrace is where we had the breakfast and dinner which was included in the price of our stay. The terrace was beautiful with an amazing view of the Medina. Breakfast and dinner were delicious with an ample selection of food.

The staff was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. They arranged tours of the Medina, rides to the airport, and printed our boarding passes. Riad Layla is inside the Medina so you get the experience of staying in a walled city built in the 9th century. It is located in an area of residential and guest houses so you get to experience real life in the Medina. I highly recommend Riad Layla and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Recommend Salma & Royal Suite on the 2nd floor and Mezzanine Suite.

We stayed here for a few nights in June and couldn't have been happier with the service and value. We were a family of 4 (a 2 year old and a baby) and the from the moment we arrived to our check out the staff was incredibly friendly. The team went above and beyond helping us out during our stay. We stayed on the top floor and the room was well decorated ( a lot of stairs) and even though we were were traveling for 4 weeks the team carried all our bags. We had a dinner there the first night and the food was wonderful with great views and breakfast was filling and couldn't be beat.

When we had dinner the following night at a nearby restaurant and was lost getting back (it's crazy how many streets there are) we called hotel and he came and met us (think his name was Tamir) and found us and brought us back. We also had an early am flight and Tamir went to the store and had yogurts, bread and other items so we could take to the airport as we were missing breakfast. This was appreciated by everyone in our family. We used the spa, which was also affordable and nice after hiking around the city all day to. We had used a guide to tour Fez but would not recommend it, the guide was generally disinterested (walking a head of us and not explaning too much) so would do research on a good guide. But this should distract you from using the hotel.

One helpful item, we booked through a 3rd party site and found out later the rates much cheaper by just calling the hotel (came up when checking out), would book directly w/ the staff and save 20-30 dollars a night next time :)

The Riad provided the perfect stay in Fes. The room was comfortable and charming. The rooftop steals the show by giving you one of the best views in Fes. Breakfast was great. Can not say enough wonderful things about the staff of the Riad. They were nice and helpful. Even gave me a ballpark of how much an item should be so I can hackle in the Medina like a local. The Riad isn’t far from the street but it is confusing to get to if it your first time. So I recommend getting the transfer to the Riad on your arrival.

We were just out of sahara the day we checked in. Staff picked us up from the street and helped with our luggages. The riad is not quite inside medina but really close to the big blue gate with approx 3 mins walk. Which makes it less chaos compare with those riad inside the medina. The decor and style is fabulous and staff are friendly and helpful. They helped us find really good guide for the Médina and helped us solve the problem with our bus ticket. There is also a cosy terrace with wonderful view. Me and my friend have managed to have a dinner in sunset time. The room is really stylish and bed is really comfy. Breakfast is served in terrace area which is also a high mark of the stay. A big thank you to all the staff:)

This the the most beautiful Riad. Totally amazing and romantic. The detail is unbelievable. Location in the Médina is very good but I agree that the map provided was terrible. Breakfasts were good. Room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable.
