Reasonable room - sitting area and balcony and fridge! The toilet room was so tiny you almost had to go in backwards - because turning was not so easy! Quite far out of the city centre and fortunately there is a shopping center nearby. Lovely pool.

Room Tip: Corner suites large and sunny

Let me begin with the good. Arriving as part of a VIator/MundiMaroc Morocco five day tour from Malaga we checked in here and we're impressed by the architectural splendor and detail and we're looking forward to our three day stay. Now the not so good. The room was adequate but very tired and beat; the shower mount fell off in my hand, the sink porcelain was cracked the floor tiles were broken and the refrigerator did not work. I told the front desk about the refrigerator and the 'mechanic' fixed it by unplugging the TV and plugging the refrigerator into the other outlet - now the TV was broken. The restaurant food was poor quality, Morocco buffet unimaginative and left us wanting something else. The following meal brought out the same food items. We were on the 4th floor and one day I decided to take the stairs to the lobby. What I discovered horrified me. The stairs, emergency egress in case of a fire, led to the ground level which was not only locked but chained with padlocks. I had to reverse all the way to the second floor before being able to return to the hallway and elevators. If there was a fire on that end of the building and the elevators were rightly inoperative, many lives would be lost. I am a firefighter in Colorado.

I stayed 7 nights with my wife and little baby. The hotel itself is very nice, nice lobby area. Reception staff were not helpful and was asking me for 500dh when I got there. To do with tax or whatever. Concierge ladies spoke decent English but were not helpful. Breakfast was very nice, waiters were polite and always were on hand to warm up my daughters food every morning. Piano Bar was also nice staff were helpful there too. Room was nice, nice TV, sofas, bed. The only thing with this 5 Star hotel is that we came too soon. Located on the edge of Fes. It's in the middle of a developing area, nothing around it. Need a taxi to get to the Medina, unfortunately for us, we had a pushchair and no Petite Taxis were picking us up, had to keep getting a private taxi which cost 100dh each pick up. Very nice hotel, if you want to enjoy it more than I did, then you need to go in 5-10 years.

Reception area is stunning! Check in was smooth but on our first night there was really load music being played up to 4am! We mentioned this to reception so were moved to the 4th floor and we were happy with that. Reception staff were very helpful and arranged an English speaking taxi driver for us and he was very friendly and knowledgeable of Morocco. We visited the Medina and had a guide to show us round and we had an evening meal one night there with the belly dancer, magic show and traditional musicians. we also visited the natural thermo spa, which was amazing and great value for money, the Roman ruins, met and fed wild monkeys and had mint tea at a locals home who lives in a cave! Just use your common sense when out, don't have valuables in back pockets or in ruck sacs on your back. Food was very good at hotel breakfast and evening. locals use the bar, as drinking is not encouraged, the music can get a bit too much and they can smoke there. Accommodation staff were very good too, smiling and do a great job around the hotel. All in all we want to visit Morocco again!

Room Tip: Try and get a room high as possible away from the music.

Stayed here in late December and it was the worst hotel of our trip to morocco. Despite being labelled as 5 stars, this hotel was 3 stars at best. The hotel was in a remote location not near town. The reception and lobby areas for each floor was darkly lit, and lights were flickering. The room had very old furniture and old school tv box!! The bedsheets were also itchy to the skin. The only saving grace was the buffet at the restaurant.

Located in the middle of nowhere on the outskirts of the city but right next to a very deprived area. The tourists have become the target for opportunist thieves. It is perhaps no co-incidence that following a coach of guest arrivals the consierge desk (where safes are available) is unmanned and with no room safes guests are almost certain to be carrying their valuables when they attempt to visit the shops 500 yards away. Interestingly the gate staff vacate around 3pm, and do reception and so there is no security. Shoppers are then targeted as they return across an expanse of waste land. I venture to suspect they are all in on it, even the police cannot decide on jurisdiction, so thieves escape while people debate the time of day. The hotel had dated rooms, dinner was a dried out buffet with little choice. Breakfast was also poor. The room however was clean and its facilities worked, which seem unusual in this country. Staff were extremely unhelpful and more worried about negative publicity than solving crimes..

Conveys a good impression on entry because of the large lobby area and decorative ceiling and chandeliers. If you forget the name of the hotel when in your room, you have to go outside the building and look at the front facade. Not a single paper, letterhead or hotel directory in the 10 rooms occupied by our group. No instructions near the room telephone as to which number to call for any purpose. I had to go all the way to the reception to get answers to my problems. Empty mini-bar compounded the absence of complimentary bottles of water in the rooms. Spacious rooms, loo separated from the bath-room. The lift we used did not indicate the floor you are on or where it stops; neither was the floor marked on each floor outside the lift-door. 20 TV channels to choose from but not one showing any English movies. The buffet b'fast was a disaster with runny scrambled eggs and extremely sugary orange or fig juice. Two ladies in our group had been allocated Room No. 3141 and they were going round in circles looking for it - the problem being the different room number series in the two wings not being sign-posted clearly in a central place. Wifi was available only in the lobby area, and it was very slow.

Room Tip: The elderly are advised to ask for a room close to a lift - no views to speak of.
