Angsana Riads Collection Morocco - Riad Bab Firdaus

The Angsana Riads (a hotel with an inner court/garden) are located in the Medina, the old city, of Marrakech. They are part of Banyan Tree Resorts. This is my second stay at a Banyan Tree and I have friends who have stayed at other Banyan Tree Resorts. What is uniformly consistent is excellent staff who are naturally friendly and who do the little extra things that make a difference and a holiday more enjoyable. You feel pampered and cared for.

Room Tip: Not all bathrooms have showers so you need to ask when you book if that is important to you.

We had wonderful stay at Angsana Si Said. The Africaine Suite was superb: spacious yet cosy, beautifully decorated with mod cons and provides lots of light. The roof terrace is fantastic where you can catch the sky and hear the rhythm of Marrakech. Breakfast or tea in the courtyard with birds chirping. The staff were great - warm and attentive, made us feel very welcomed throughout the trip. A little paradise we thought. Strongly recommended!!

My husband and I had our honeymoon in Barcelona last month and decided to hop over to Morocco, and booked the Riad for a couple of days, not knowing what to expect. It was marvelous from the beginning: the hotel is architecturally gorgeous, but had an intimate feel to it, thanks to the wonderful service and staff. In particular we got to know Walid, who took time to get to know us, but not in an intrusive way. He made us feel at home and was a comforting resource to have in a country so foreign to us. I must add the food was so VERY good (we went to the Saturday Arabian Nights and had a blast). I couldn't stop taking pictures of every inch of the hotel. We had an amazing ending to our honeymoon! Thank you!!

Very friendly, superb accommodation, lots of atmosphere. Perfect service, felt very spoiled and very relaxing as well as interesting. Could spend lots more days just relaxing there. Staff incredibly helpful giving us a marvellous stay.

Room Tip: Chose a room with a bathroom which is separated from bedroom by a door.

Through Jetsetter, I booked an awesome deal with Angsana Riads Collection. I’ve known about Angsana as a luxury line, and was thrilled to get a 5 star Riad for a discount. We stayed 2 nights at Angsana Riad Bab Firdaus. What you get is not your typical Hotel experience, but an experience you’ll talk about for years to come!

We were welcomed by a charming and hospitable host, Walid Naciri. As soon as we dropped our luggage, we were treated to freshly made mint lemonade. Walid was a first rate manager. He was magnificent and went above the call of duty. He was dedicated to every detail and ensured us a positive experience. He gave us a cell phone charged with some credits to make emergency calls, maps with his notes and advice one how to best utilize our time. The entire staff at Angsana Riad Bab Firdaus- Walid, Khalid, Cous Cous and the girls at the Spa were uber-friendly and literally became an extension of our group.

The ambiance of the Riad is a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the Medina! The courtyard is gorgeously and tastefully decorated, as its a mix of South East Asian intertwined with Moroccan. I loved the fact the Riad offered something non-Moroccan as as their main restaurant. Its a nice break from the typical Moroccan cuisine. The Thai food was scrumptious, and they offer a nice list of good local wines. Unknowingly, we were slightly over billed for dinner. Immediately after, the staff acknowledged the oversight on their own, and took care of it in a very professional manner! Just a very trustworthy and honest-to-goodness staff!

The Spa was fabulous and one of the best experiences in Marrakech. In the course of my trip, I hit up several different Spas and this is one was very enjoyable. Knowledgeable spa staff, that all spoke English and service was impeccable! Try the head massage, and you will literally fall asleep!

The Riad had hidden gems with details worth mentioning- Free Wi-Fi, free bottled water (constantly replenished), large size towels, nice shower heads in the bathroom, and the best cappuccino! Umbrellas were offered to us, and daily print out of global news in English all were a nice touch.

I have to admit, the Riad Bab Firdaus was a bit tricky to find initially, as there are several Angsana Riads scattered through out the Old Medina area. But that was the fun of it, walking through the maze of souks. This Riad is located on a completely quiet street, outside of the busy streets of Medina, but centrally located to the main tourist sites. It takes about 10 mins by foot to get to the main square. There is a carport nearby. Perfect for taxis and drivers to pick and drop off as the Medina is full of small streets that taxis cannot come through. If you’re looking for rejuvenation and tranquility, this is the perfect Riad, for your mind, body, soul and of course your money! Overall, if I come back to Marrakech, I will be going back to Riad Bab Firdaus!

My friends and I recently were on holiday in Morocco and chose to stay at Angsana Riad Bab Firdaus for our Marrakesh portion of the trip. We were instantly greeted by the wonderful riad manager, Walid and he instantly made us feel warm and welcome. From the hospitality we experienced throughout our stay to the beautifully decorated rooms, we could not have asked for a better place to stay. Centrally located to many attractions and Jemma El Fna is a short 10 minute walk. Also, the riad offers delicious Thai food for those who may want a break from Moroccan food - excellent! Hamman is a very good experience too. Walid truly made our stay enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: All rooms are great.

The Angsana Riad Bab Fidaus more than exceeded my expectations. For starters, it was clean and welcoming after our long commute from Fes to Casablanca to Marrakech. The Riad manager, Walid, took extra special care to ensure our stay was a memorable experience. We were greeted with refreshments and a snack. He took the time to provide us with maps and gave recommendations of sights to visit and places to eat. He even gave us a cell phone in case of emergency. When it rained, he offered us umbrellas. When we got lost, he literally walked us to our destination. You just don't find this kind of service and hospitality nowadays. The spa at the Riad was blissful. I can't remember the last time I had such an amazing massage. If you like Thai food, the Riad serves it for lunch and dinner and it was delicious.
