My family and I stayed for 6 nights at Dar Soulahfa (2 kids, ages 8/11) after touring Morocco for 3 weeks. The dar is lovely and tastefully decorated in traditional Moroccan design. After looking at the photos of the building while it was being reconstructed, I truly appreciate how much effort it took to renovate the structure.
The housekeeper and cook were always warm and welcoming, especially with our kids.
It was always a great pleasure to come home to a quiet retreat after touring the energetic markets. The location is perfect for touring the medina and venturing into the Ville Nouvelle.
The only negative concerns the breakfasts. The ladies, even after requesting, would not come to the house any earlier than 8:30-8:45, with breakfast sometime around 9 AM. Also, the breakfasts were generally very basic compared to the other dars and riads we stayed in throughout our three weeks in Morocco.
We did, however, really enjoy Dar Soulahfa, and would recommend it to others visiting Marrakech.More
