This hotel was beautiful! This was my first time to Morocco and the hotel was pleasantly surprising. Staff was friendly and the place was always clean. This place was a family home that was converted into a hotel which is why its located down a few narrow corridors. Its very close proximity to the markets.

Breakfast always had fresh squeeze orange juice. They had these fried dough things with honey. Didn't have the opportunity to have dinner at the hotel as it had to be ordered very early in the day. a couple of nights we had to go find pizza or wraps on the main road.

My only suggestion to this hotel is to have signs directing to the hotel. When we arrived we couldn't figure out where to go at 3am. the only people out were the drug dealers who guided us where to go and then hustled us for one Euro per person for the very short distance guide. When we were leaving the hotel there were new travellers coming in who got hustled as well.

Thank you very much for your comment. We thank you also for your suggestion. But, we need to precise the second part of your review : People who guide tourists are not drug dealers (drug dealers are not in the Streets asking for one euro...), and sometimes those people, kids, or little street workers, they ask a little piece of money, this is true, in exchange of your way... This is a little "game". But, no worrie at all, you can certainly refuse to give a piece of money.

I would highly recommend this hotel when in Marrakesh. Location is great as it is a 7 min walk from Jame el Fnaa, staff are very friendly and nice; Ibrahim was always helping us, and the breakfast was excellent and very rich! Getting to the hotel might not seem easy for the first time, but once you know the place it becomes easy to get there. I would highly recommend it and if I would go again, I would definitely stay there again!

Dar Silsila was the perfect place to retreat to after busy days out in the souks of Marrakech. It is clean, well appointed, quiet, has good wifi, and is just lovely. Ibrahim and the staff were kind and helpful at all times, greeting us with a smile every time we returned. Breakfast is delicious and just what we needed to start each busy day, and I'd highly recommend the hammam treatment there as well. We will definitely stay at Dar Silsila again on future visits to Marrakech, and highly recommend it to others.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 2nd floor which was quiet and peaceful.

Location is safe and quiet, yet still within 10min walk to jemaa el fna and the souks. Staff are all top notch, and were not pushy about tours. WiFi was sometimes unstable, but we could still stream videos somewhat. Dar itself was pretty and inviting. I wish I had more opportunity to use the terrace more. Breakfast was typical Moroccan fare and included one freshly cooked item each day. I enjoyed the firm bed. Everything was immaculately clean.

When I initially looked at the dar's room options, I thought what a great deal the double economy was. You get a large amount of beautifully lit space and a queen AND a twin bed. I can now better explain why the room is considered economy. It actually is a repurposed space on the roof. Quite clever in conception, but not executed perfectly. There are two solid walls, the other two walls are mostly glass. What made for beautifully lit pictures, can make for difficult sleep in the morning for some. And it's fortunate that there is a/c bc all the glass causes a greenhouse effect. (Heat is also provided, which i believe is rare to have both). And given the room's location on the roof, you must consider the stairs. Also the twin bed is more like a sofa, but I think it's common for it to be categorized this way. The most peculiar thing though is that to get into the room, you cross the massage/hamman room. You can enter the room through a different entrance, but you can only close/lock that door from outside. For me, it was easiest to be away when there is a session booked. The only thing that was a bother for me was the lack of privacy due to the bathroom being on the other side of the massage room, separate from the bedroom. and though technically, it is for your private use, this is not enforceable. We found that out when someone used too much toilet paper and clogged things. Shower had hot water But little pressure.

A few other things: Transport from airport to hotel is 17euro per group (not per person as Travelocity stated). This does not include the 20DH for someone to lead you to the Dar itself. If you wish to save money and do not have much luggage, you can arrange your own taxi to take you to Bab Louksor. From there, the hotel provides directions I will upload. Also, Travelocity has the wrong city tax. I found it to be 3euro pppn. Had I booked any other room, this would be closer to a 5 star review.
