We were 8 girls staying at the Riad. Everyone off us had the most wonderful time. The rooms were nice and clean and beautifully decorated. The rooftop were cozy and used for a little sunbathing. But most of all we enjoyed the staff who came every. Especially Osama was so nice and helpful with everything. The breakfast was simple but very nice. We didn’t use the Hammam, but we had very good massage at our room several times.

My friends and I stayed at the riad for 5 nights this January. We had a lovely time and the riad looks exactly as it does in the pictures! It's very beautiful with stunning decor. The heaters in the rooms work really well as the nights can be chilly at this time of year. Noura and Oussama are both very hospitable and flexible if needed to be. A big thank you to the both of them! We had different friends arriving and leaving on different dates and times yet this was all handed seamlessly with the airport transfers, etc. Location wise the riad is about a 25 minute walk from the main square jama el fna . We walked during the day and took taxis at night which took 5 minutes and were fairly well priced. I would recommend this riad for those of you who want to experience a riad stay within the old town. The old town is very different to western cities however we did feel safe walking around and felt people were very friendly.
If you want the thousand and one night feeling, Riad Jaune Safran is the place to go. The atmosphere and area makes you feel like you are in the Arabian Night fairy tale. The Riad is kept in an authentic Moroccan style with a homey feeling and god space for both privacy and common areas in and outside. Before arrival Veronica have been more than helpful with arranging activities during our stay. Everything from airport pick-up, cooking class, hammam, etc. even weather reports – you name it, Veronica were helpful and everything at fair prices. Even during the stay she was in contact, just to make sure everything was as it should be. During our stay Oussama was at the Riad every day making sure we never missed anything and came with suggestions to what to do and visit. His friendly mind made us feel at home and welcomed from the first day. Amina and Noura should win a gold medal in keeping the Riad clean - everything was just spotless. All in all I have no suggestions for improvements for the staff, Riad Jaune Safran or Veronica. Everything was more than expected. Diffidently a place that should be on your bucket list.
Suggestion for your visit:
Cooking class with Oussama at the Riad;
Make sure to enjoy the rooftop terrace;
Wander around the souks. - Hammam and massage at the Riad - if you are not too shy;
Take a day outside the city to see the countryside and mountains. A place worth visiting is Paradis du, especially in autumn where they harvest safran;
Get Google Maps on your phone and download a map of the Medina.
Firstly thank you so much to Oussama; who is the Riad manager. He took care of everything for us, booked excursions, Hammams - anything we needed, nothing was too much to ask! And he was the most lovely man on top of it all.
The Riad is beautiful. I took my boyfriend here as a birthday surprise and was completely blown away when we got there! Totally exceeded all my expectations from the pictures. We had the whole 5-bedroom Riad to ourselves!! Every morning we were served an amazing traditional Moroccan breakfast by the cook. Bed sheets/rooms were cleaned everyday. Everything was sorted through the Riad; activities etc so don't worry about planning before you come, Veronica and her team have a full catalogue on arrival full of potential excursions/activities that you can browse through and they will book them all for you. On the last evening we had a candlelit dinner on the rooftop made by the cook. It was the best meal we'd had the whole time we'd been in Morocco and we went to a lot of nice restaurants. My only regret is that I didn't stay longer!!!!!
We came to Marrakech and enjoyed our stay Riad Jaune Safran. The property was very charming and our group of 8 ladies felt like we were at home. Veronica, our host was beyond helpful and a pleasure to work with. She also helped us set up tours and activities. In addition, Oussama and Noura (onsite staff) were both extremely attentive and nice, we fell in love with them! I would recommend this riad if you are looking for an authentic Moroccan experience and want to be immersed into the local neighborhood.
This is a remarkable place to stay whilst visiting Marrakesh. The Riad is a quiet and peaceful place that is fully equipped to ensure that your comfort and relaxation needs are fully met, whilst keeping the hustle and bustle outside.
Tastefully decorated throughout with a strong Moroccan style it made our visit feel more authentic.
The service provided by Veronica from the point of enquiry and booking to arrival is incomparable. We never had to worry.
Upon our arrival to the Riad we were met by Ossama who has the most engaging manner I have ever met and is the perfect host. We had mint tea and traditional Moroccan delicacies prepared by himself and Khadija. On our first night we opted to have our dinner prepared for us and again we were not disappointed.
What an assets to the Riad.
The space is beautiful but the attentive nature of Ossama and Khadija made it feel like a home from home.
I would strongly recommend making use of Ossama's local knowledge and the organisation of taxis for trips out. It certainly took the stress away from us, having Ossama manage this for us.
Well done Veronica and team for putting together such a wonderful experience in Marrakech !
We just returned from 3 weeks in Morocco and spent our first four nights at Riad Jaune Saffran. Suffice it to say it was a great way to start our trip. Working with Veronica beforehand to arrange our stay was a breeze, and once we were there Oussama was a most gracious and helpful host.
The riad itself is located within the medina about a 20-minute walk from the souks and Djemaa el Fna square. It is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished with authentic Moroccan furniture and designs, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable. The terrace on top of the riad is the perfect place to relax at the end of the day. While staying in this riad, guests experience the hustle and bustle of the medina outside and the peaceful sanctuary the riad provides inside.
Since we were on a lengthy trip, we didn't arrange any special daytrips through RJS, but I can say that they are extremely helpful and responsive to whatever needs you have. For example, they arranged our transportation from the airport when we arrived and to the car rental agency at the end of our stay, thus simplifying logistics that can often be stressful and confusing. Additionally, I accidentally left my bank card at the riad when we checked out. Oussama notified us right away and took steps to return the card to me safely. Needless to say I was extremely grateful to Oussama for his help and attention to detail.
A couple of tips: When walking to Djemaa al Fna, look for the occasional directional signs and you'll get there. Do not be duped by the young boys who want to "guide" you to the souks in hopes of getting a tip. You'll only end up making the walk much longer. And, take advantage of Noura's excellent cooking and have a meal at the riad at least once during your stay. Finally, while you're there, book a hammam and massage through Riad Jaune Safran. It is so relaxing! Staying within the medina can be exciting and tiring, and Riad Jaune Safran offers the right blend of comfort and service to balance out the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.
