We stayed at the sister riad in the medina, Riad Safir, and enjoyed two evening meals here. The weather was not great so we were in the restaurant downstairs, which was pleasant if a little dark. We would particularly recommend the Moroccan Salads in the Starters section, which turned out to be six different vegetarian dishes in the style of mezze, with bread. All of them were delicious and one order was enough for the two of us, so we also ordered only one main course.

If everyone gave hotels a good review then there wouldn't be a need for star rating.

If you want a room with a pool generated from the air conditioning this is the place. Must is musty - best suited for those with breathing difficulties. Shower is great but try washing your hands on the sink after going to the lavatory. Breakfast is OK - eggs came from a 100 year old chicken.

Seriously somewhere to skip entirely if you have a choice. I hear there's an IBIS Meknes that's even worth considering.

We visited Meknes to plan our sons wedding there next August,
We spent 5 nights in the Ibis hotel and moved to Riad Yacoult for the last 2 nights.
Beautiful building with loads of original Moroccan charm.
The room was spacious with a huge bed, television, and lovely bathroom.
We were very lucky to get room 8 which is right on the roof, this area was fantastic as it has been utilised and turned into a gorgeous roof terrace with tables and chairs, sun beds and a small pool, all overlooking a busy bustling square.
We only had time to have one breakfast which was really lovely and the staff couldn't do enough to make sure we had everything we wanted.
This Riad is very central and the medina market is only a five minute walk away.
Along with a very busy high street style shopping area.
We were both sorry that we hadn't spent the week there..... definitely book here on our next visit.

We had one night in this riad. It really was enough. It is nicely located near the citycentre. We had room no.1 with windows to the square. Luckely we had this room as some others have no windows at all. When you enter the building there is an overwhelming cooking smell. When you want to sleep in room no 1 with the windows open, it is noisy but at night quite quiet. The personel was not really friendly, you feel like you are one of the many guests. They do not accept creditcard, only cash. The breakfast was oké but not more than that. No cheese no butter no eggs only sweet things. They do not serve alcohol. In the morning we had no warm water to shower as other guests were at the same time using the bath. We would not recommend this riad.
