Victoria Falls Hotel is a lovely place to spend a couple of nights whilst enjoying the spectacular Falls on the Zimbabwe side. The hotel looks and feels cared for, it may have been around awhile but it is wearing really well! We had dinner outside on the terrace looking out at the bridge, a wonderful way to spend an evening. The food is a bit pricey (not surprisingly) but everything we ate was great. Recommended

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in February for the first part of our honeymoon. We were shown to our room by Duly, the very helpful porter. On arrival, we were given refreshing towels and homemade lemonade which was a very nice touch. The room we stayed in was very spacious towards the back of the hotel. Bed was very comfortable! We ate dinner one evening on the terrace and was served by Precious who was very friendly and attentive. The food was tasty and it was helpful that you could sign it to your room and pay when you leave. We also did high tea after reading that the hotel was famous for it - I can see why, it was delightful! Fresh sandwiches, scones and cakes. We were served by Nathan and again, he was friendly and attentive! Also had a great breakfast selection which was tasty! Would stay again and recommend to anybody going to Victoria Falls!

Reminiscent of a by gone era with all her old school style..views of the Vic Fall sprays and direct access thereto from the hotel...what really makes this place a step above are the staff and service. Dealing with nationalities wide and varied the staff from Front Desk..to Restaurant..to Rooms all greet you with warmth in their smile and the highest levels of service...thank you to all...the holiday was made perfect by you!
Ps...the visits from the wildlife on the lawn just made it even more special!

This in many ways is an iconic hotel in a wonderful location. The grounds are immaculate and the hotel is well maintained and on the whole has a compliment of very friendly staff and has the charm and history that you would expect. The rooms we stayed in (suites) were very comfortable with large bathrooms and great beds. However this is not a 5* Hotel and in my view (and my fellow travellers) should not be included in the list of Leading Hotels of the World. For the price paid the hotel really needs to pull it's socks up. The food is simply atrocious. Given that you are paying 5* rates you expect at least reasonable food and breakfast was indescribably poor. The cheapest South African wines for US $30-40 is simply not acceptable when other establishments in Victoria Falls serve better quality wines (and food) for half the price. The Lookout Cafe served much better fare at a fraction of the price. Possibly the problem at the hotel is lack of staff and the recent explosion of tourists coming to the area. It's a great pity but it feels very much like a 'package' destination and not the special unique experience that it should be.

We loved every moment of our stay. It’s like a trip back in time to an era of grand travel. Magnificent building and unbeatable view towards the falls. Great service everywhere. Even the standard room is big. Great bed. Plus for the very reasonable prices of the food and drinks for this level of hotel.
Go here!
Insider tip: Walk the 400m to the Lookout cafe. Awesome view and good food.
