They have beautiful hand made baskets, that caught my attention instantly, place is dirty, very dirty, and trading is difficult if you don't speak French or jula. It's pretty interesting to find all kinds of stuffs there. Fabric is relatively cheaper there too.

Not many tourists visit Burkina Faso, that is probably the reason that a visit to the Grand marché is not a very pleasant experience. Be ready for constantly being dragged from one shop to the next by people that target you as their own property. If it's local craft you are looking for go visit the artesian village, a much better choice.

I have to say quite a lot of the artefacts here are available in other African countries. The baskets here are a good buy with several stalls offering colourful selections. I bought two sturdy baskets which will be great for big supermarket shops. This is certainly worth visiting and you might like to get a dress made with some of the materials on Offer. There are several dressmakers actually at the market. The sandals also seemed a good buy. Don't forget to haggle!

the markets of Burkina are such a vibrant explosion of colour and life, well worth a visit, the cloth that is made in Burkina, if you feel good at haggling and are capable in French or have someone who is then this is the place for you. However if you don't feel you've quite the nerve for haggling in the bustling markets, Tigoung Nonma is well worth a visit. It's a cooperative of disabled artisans and they have a tiny shop in Ouaga - the prices are fixed; the people who work there are lovely, the work is beautiful and the money goes to a good cause which is just a whole load of positives really. Well worth a look in.

Such a nice place to buy original souvenirs Made by those People Who sell them. Be' careful for the price, since you are a tourist they would start with higher prices, i have been there with local People that's why i know. The place is very nice, you would walk and see All these different arts.
