Owner description: A fire destroyed the biggest of the area street markets in 2003, so other centers have popped up around the town for arts and crafts, foodstuffs and souvenirs.

I was alone to visit there and felt bad. A lot of people shouted Chinois: it means Chinese !! Ni xao!! Chingchongchang!! in violently.
Mostly, shop seller standing infront of me and fallowed. Sometimes they grabbed my arm. I tried to ignore and finally made me exhausted, dissy. If you are Asian girl and alon. You will have Harassment a lot!! If you really loved African art craft, and purpose it's ok. people will take you the place what you want.

The big Central Market is arguably the most interesting and exciting place to visit in Ouagadougou !
From cloths to handycrafts and meat , you find everything you need - and also , and above all , you'll find eveything you do not need , and all you are definetely not looking for...

The central market is vast, covering a number of buildings, streets and open air areas. If you are an obvious foreigner you are likely to be hassled a lot. Market vibe safe, and you can pretty much find anything you want. If you're up for it a good place to find souvenirs though negotiate a lot, and speak at least some French. The continuous nagging does get quite grating after a while and we encountered a lot of areas where we were told not to take photos.

I just went there to see how it looks like to be in the african markets, and it was complete upto my expectations.. Very crowded and very smelly, people can anytime grab your hand for ur attention, and you just have to say sorry to them, they sale everything, i mean everything...
A big bargain is available. If u want to buy some thing, start from 1/5th of the price.
The market is contracted and there are small small shops inside.
You have to see the local food there too.
Alot of varieties of different comodites and many more...

They have beautiful hand made baskets, that caught my attention instantly, place is dirty, very dirty, and trading is difficult if you don't speak French or jula. It's pretty interesting to find all kinds of stuffs there. Fabric is relatively cheaper there too.
