Stayed here for business for over a week. Staff was attentive, food was great, and enjoyed the pool! Rooms were very clean and good water pressure. Highly recommended for business or pleasure. Security was also good. Very much enjoyed my stay here.

Great hotel. Great food. Fine dining. Beautiful warm water in the pool. Five minutes walk to the CBD. Decent hotel room fares. A few hours drive to the Kibira national park. 10 minutes drive to the airport. This hotel, I do recommend.

We stayed here for a week and half on work business and were very impressed. The rooms were clean, with mosquito nets and well equipped. It was especially lovely to have a balcony overlooking the Congolese mountains. The grounds and the surrounding area are quiet and there are lots of areas to sit outside for meetings or drinks. The staff were very professional in taking care of us (super friendly and accommodating) and the food was good and varied. The only downside was perhaps the price (especially for bottled water) but you can just go and stock up from a supermarket.

Would recommend for anyone visiting BJM!

The hotel is clean and spacious and one of the best by Bujumbura standards. Wifi is reliable and the hotel staff at the reception speak both english and french (which can be a plus to one-language foreigners). Don't expect fast service in the restaurant though, they take their time with the orders there! But the assortment of fresh fruit every morning is a breath of fresh air. The hotel has no gym but the swimming pool makes up for that a bit....

I stayed here for a workshop and subsequent work in Bujumbura and elsewhere. I was impressed. The hotel has everything you need, and some other nice touches.

The rooms are large and spacious, with balconies. The beds are also large, with big mosquito nets positioned in exactly the right place to fit easily over the bed. This is a definite plus - so often in this part of the world you have to somehow make do with tiny nets that don't fit the bed (you know - the sort of "small pyramid" phenomenon). The bathroom is clean and adequate, and hot water is mostly good (although worth noting that there can be problems when others are showering at the same time: alternatively boiling hot and freezing cold waterflow, depending on who else has their tap on at that momen).Air conditioning works well. Wifi is free, and very fast. The staff are extra-friendly and the food is good. The common areas are quite nice - a big garden area with lots of places to sit and chat, a smaller outside/inside bar, and even a small and clean swimming pool. The food is very good, although not particularly cheap. I was there for a workshop (as many other people also seemed to be), and those facilities and arrangements were good.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the décor could do with something of an overall. It is clean and new-ish, but just doesn't really "do it". Nothing matches, everything veers towards the nylon-y / satin-y side of things. But maybe that's just a matter of taste. My other small complaint would be that the bathroom windows open onto the inside corridor and are left open after room cleaning, with curtains also open. As you walk along the corridor in the morning you can see your fellow residents showering (although only from the neck up) and sometimes hear some rather more intimate bathroom noises than you - or the occupants - might wish.

Room Tip: My room faced the road and was quiet. Some of my colleagues whose rooms faced the inner garden complained that the (frequent) weddings and other events could sometimes make things a bit noisy.
