This villa felt like home. It is located in a secured / guarded community. Entrance to the Devtraco Villas is guarded by security officers and access is granted only on provision of appropriate paper work.
The shops are not too far away. On the rough road (Kotobaby junction), you can buy yam, banana plantain, pineapple etc. Bottled mineral water also available (in bulk purchase) on the same road. A little further on Community 18 road, it is possible to purchase electricity on key for the house. Spintext Road (which is off Community 18 Road) takes you to Accra shopping mall (Shoprite) - the place is amazing. You can find anything you want from Shoprite but it is not cheap. There is also a forex bureau within the shopping mall.
There are also smaller shops and markets on Spintex road so you don't need to go all the way to Shoprite for your shopping. At the junction of Spintex Road and Community 18 Road, there is a cash machine and a forex bureau where you can change your dollar or pound sterling to local Cedi currency.
The accommodation itself is very good: 1 master en-suite bedroom and two other bedrooms all with fans and air condition. There is enough wardrobe space for anything you think of bringing. The sitting room is very good with comfortable sofas and a huge TV. The dinner table has capacity for at least 6 or up to 8 people.
The kitchen has all you need: a gas cooker, a big microwave oven, washing machine, fridge/freezer, cookware, dishwasher etc. So you can feel at home.
There are 3 toilets including a guest toilet. There are garden chairs / sofas outside on the terrace but we did not use these as we were trying to avoid being bitten by mosquitos. The front garden is small but very nice. There is a dryer but we used the washing line in the garden. Overall, this accommodation is highly recommended for families.
A couple warnings (not about the accommodation though): traffic is a nightmare in Accra. There are now too many cars (a lot 4x4s, lorries, taxis etc) than the current road infrastructure can accommodate, so you cannot go anywhere in a hurry. Also when it rains, it pours, so don't go anywhere because some of the roads become impractical and cut off by flooding.
