This hotel has a very prime locations and it seems to be the oldest in Bamako among good hotels, but by time their services are getting worst.

Rooms were okay, service was also just okay, they could do better ..

When I stayed their internet was not working properly and I had a very hard time there cuz of tht

Now the UN have pretty much taken over the hotel, prices have risen but service and quality have fallen. Food prices in the restaurant were extravagant. French is essential, as very few staff speak English. Rooms were comfortable and the AC worked . Metal detectors at the entrance were for show only - everyone just walked through and were not stopped when the detector went off. Internet was slow and expensive. I would only recommend this hotel if you are travelling for business and money is no option.

Stayed in the hotel during a business trip. Never experienced a generator cut here. Restaurant on the top floor is nice, but nothing special. The plus is that there is a nice pool (next time I'll think to bring a bathing suit) and it is next to the Niger River.

I have never been to a hotel anywhere in the world that you have a confirmed reservation and cannot get access to your room at 10pm in the evening (in fact there was a que of 12 people waiting for rooms, why are you paying for accommodation if you only get half the time)?
The restaurant staff are polite and helpful, rooms are average for Africa, but the check in staff are pathetic, rude and have no idea how to deal with customers.
My recommendation is never go near this hotel chain, as they are completely disorganized.

Average hotel, over priced. Breakfasts ridiculous cost. Beers expensive. Good location with views over river Niger. Electricity cuts and generator do not synchronise so be prepared for 10 mins in the dark in an elevator.

When the night grows the crescendo of jazz music and djembe and guitar and the piano heightens. The girls come into action both inside and outside the longe bar counter and people across the nations from different continent gather in the action area-the musical lounge-bar of the hotel Laico l'Amitie. Located beside the mighty Niger river this hotel has a very nice swimming pool, some of the rooms has a good view of the river Niger. The hotel has a very big area and lot of empty green space surrounds this property. The rooms are below average and the cleaniness is not to the standard of a 5 star hotel- I was shocked to see such a messy room. The staffs are not friendly and keep a straight face. Everything in the hotel in my opinion is bit overpriced. The breakfast buffet spread is very good (lots of choices for both veg and non veg is there-starting from the dry fruit to the exotic african fruits to the bacons and sausages etc....the spread is really good) and apart from it the best thing about the hotel is that it gives you a feeling of a very large palace but aesthetically poor. If anyone asks me what is the best thing about this hotel then I would say without any 2nd thought-only and only the live music at the lounge bar. The musicians play really some great Jazz, Malian and African music. The sound of Djembe will reduce all the dullness and yeah you can even dance if you wish-I did that and got applauded from various French,English,Arabs,African nationals-where will you get such a mix of audiences:)....But be aware of the shady business that happens in the very lounge area-be careful....girls and touts are everywhere. It is located very close to the Grand Mosque of Bamako, mali museum, market area for buying artefacts, masks and the fabled Djembe...bargain as much as you can. One more thing hotel security is good but be careful of your valuable belongings.

Room Tip: Ask for the room overlooking River Niger.
