This stylish B&B at the end of a tree-lined street near Embassy Row has much to recommend it. The rooms are colorful, comfortable and nicely appointed (especially the front garden room and rear garden cottage that sleeps 3-4). There's a breezy little bar that's perfect for an afternoon wind-down or long evening chats with the eclectic clientele, many of them repeat visitors. The proprietress, Vera, is fun, helpful and knows all the good eateries and watering holes. Breakfast is simple, with fresh fruits and pao (and eggs if you ask). Staying at Mandala makes you feel a bit like a well-connected local. Highly recommended.

We booked to stay here for 2 nights but ended up staying for 5 nights. This B&B is clean and the owner, Vera is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is sparse, with one roll and a slice of processed cheese being served. But a scrambled egg is available if you ask. A small quantity of fruit is also supplied.
The bedroom was nicely decorated with local art. There were mosquito nets provided. There was no hook to keep the shower in position. This meant that you had to hold up the shower.

It's my favorite place to stay in Maputo. I'm a frequent guest since 2012. Good location, nice breakfast, very calm. You can really breath the spirit of Maputo. Close to the famous Elvis Bar and to several nice restaurants. Definitely recommended!

I regularily travel to Maputo and Mandala is the best place so far I have found to stay in the Capital. A little Oasis in the city, with charming rooms at a great rate and always a warm welcome by Vera who if you are new to Mozambique will give you all the insider tips to make you to make your stay there truly special.

Room Tip: The best rooms are the ones accessible from the garden that have independent entrance and en-suite bathroom.

Mandala guest House is the best place to stay in Maputo.
It' s a nice, cool place with a fantastic atmosphere. Vera, the owner has her natural way to put us at ease. She knows every one in town and knows were all the "action" is happening.
It's located in a calm area and you don't feel that you are in the center of town.
The rooms are great and the staff its very friendly.
I totally advise everyone that goes to Maputo to stay there and they don't regret.
Thanks you Vera and your wonderful staff for the great times that I' eve pass there.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good but the out-side ones are the best
