The room was fine, the staff was cordial, but the breakfast was very poor.
The localization of the hotel is also good.
I didn't try the swimming pool, so I can't tell about that.
In summary, it was a good choice.

Stayed for three nights on a business trip. Wanted a central location and this was just the place - quiet as well. Room a little small and shower could have done with an upgrade but everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was OK but sometimes had to wait a while for buffet food to be replenished. Staff very helpful and friendly (plus speak English).

Room tip: Check the size of room

My wife and I were booked into the Hotel Villa das Mangas for one night with a transfer from Maputo Airport to our Hotel, 26th April 2018.
On arrival in this Humble city, we waited for an hour before deciding to phone the Hotel, as our driver was not there to pick us up.
Fortunately I am Portuguese speaking so could communicate with the Hotel staff, as my wife had tried speaking English with Nobody understanding. Fortunate again there was a Taxi waiting for another person at the Airport to transfer them to the same Hotel, so we asked him to take us to the Hotel Villa das Mangas.
On arrival to our Hotel the Taxi driver had to take our Luggage inside the Hotel as there was nobody from the Hotel, to greet and take our Luggage to the reception.

Polite at reception a mere 4 out of 10, Ten being Great. We had booked 1 Superior Double room, with breakfast. The room, nothing superior( would not like to know what the lesser costing rooms are like), the safe did not work, aircon was dripping inside whilst we were asleep( we only noticed then), wife had tried to wash her hands there was no water at that point in time, but afterwards there was, when we had a shower in the morning, NO HOT WATER.

The Hotel has a lovely setting with a beautiful pool and patio chairs outside where you can have Lunch or Dinner. A lovely bar area with an outside patio looking onto the main road, and very helpful waiters and staff. That evening was a lovely Jazz band playing with great music.

Breakfast was a 6 out of 10, Ten being great.

For the price of this Hotel I did expect much more, sad that our experience was not a good one, but maybe it was just not our day, however I would not recommend, because of the value one pays for and what one receives in turn.

Love Maputo Beautiful humble people and great food, will be back, but unfortunately not this Hotel, as we did book into another Hotel in Maputo for Three nights and it was Marvelous.

The only positive thing about this hotel is the location and breakfast. Apart from that, once we arrived we were given a room that resembled a bunker and we were forced to ask for change which was granted, specially due to the price we paid for. Our room was not clean (you could find waste from previous guest) and a bad smell was coming from the toilet. The balcony had two chairs that were dirty and one of them broken. The pool was surrounded by cats and the waiting times are quite long at the restaurant.

Room tip: choose always second floor rooms

Great location, garden with pool, rooms are spacious (and have jacuzzis!). Staff is extremely lovely so overall I recommend this place. WiFi works pretty well, if anything they could vary the breakfast given the stay is fairly pricey. A positive experience!
