Pros: seems safe, good location, spacious room, good bed.

Cons: overpriced for the quality, bathroom wet and shabby, owners unfriendly. Refuse to book a room in advance without payment. Offer taxi on crazy price ( 650 Mtc per person!!! from the airport while you can take it for 300 -500 Mtc)

Beautiful guesthouse/bed and breakfast in Maputo. Acacia occupies 2 houses facing each other (which means some guests have to cross the road to go to reception and breakfast. It's situated in a semi residential area, so expect noise from some neighbours and some traffic (busy road) if you are there during the week.

Easy to see that owners put in a lot of effort in the decoration and finishes and that is very much appreciated. Got fantastic service from staff, special mention goes to Matavel from reception, he was really helpful and professional. Breakfast was filling, from my understanding eggs (made to order) were the only hot options, but I'm not complaining....we ate more than enough. There's a light menu on offer throughout the day, however, one must order dinner early/in advance if eating in.

The price we paid was a bit steep, approx R1,600/$110. The price could have been for the room that we used, which was spacious and had an en suite with bath and shower). Note that there is no coffee/tea/TV in the bedrooms and some bedrooms, at least on the house where we stayed share a bathroom. From my observation, management photos here on TripAdvisor do not differ much from the reality.

Overall, would definitely go back.

Hands down one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in for a hotel. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Internet also available.

Employees are very nice and helpful.

The only thing to look out for is that the reception is not opened 24h. While the place is guarded by a security man and you are given a key to the front door which means you can pretty much go in or our any time; you cannot check-in, check-out or get assistance out of hours.
