This a pretty central hotel in Windhoek. It is not cheap for what you get. The rooms are rather basic. Some of the mattresses are very hard - typical Chinese mattresses. The breakfasts are good. The reception staff are efficient and helpful. There are security staff on duty 24/7 and a strong security gate that is closed at night - necessary to keep out undesireables.

Room N° 1 is for 3 persons. Unfortunately in the bathroom there is only 1 hook to put 3 towels and all the other things one needs in a bathroom to put your clothes for example.
The staff is very helpful and borowed us a towel stand to put our towels. That was apparently not to the liking of the new chinese owners and the staff was threated badly.
Pension Steiner was once a very peaceful place. After 6pm you need a taxi to go anywhere in town. With the new owners we will stay somewhere else the next time, as it's also rather not a cheap place to stay.

The pension lies in the middle of the center so very easy to visit everything. The rooms are pretty 'basic' but all you need is provided. The service at the reception is excellent! The breakfast is very good with friendly staff.

I stayed at the Steiner for two nights during my stay in Windhoek. The complex has a 24 hour security gate and the staff are extremely helpful. The hotel has a trusted taxi company they use if you don't want to walk and is especially handy to get and from Joes Beer House. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. The hotel has nice surroundings with a nice backyard and restaurant area for breakfast. There is also a shopping mall about 5 minutes walk if you need an ATM or buy some food or drink.

In my option, this hotel is perfectly fine for a one (or two)night stay before/ after your Namibia-trip! It is perfectly located in Windhoek and the staff is very helpful! We were three and had, therefore, a three persons room - nothing special but all good! Breakfast is good! Garden with pool very cosy!
