The hotel is at a good location and nice and clean. Our toilet was not flushing though and we could not really use it! We also had problems with the payment which we made by transfer. It took over 3 weeks to go through and we were charged over 12€ in fees!!! It never happened with any other bookings.. that was quite annoying! If you plan to stay here, it would be better to give your credit card details on paper..

I was extremely impressed by the staff, who could not have been nicer or more competent / helpful. Also, the guest house had a mature vibe; no late night party-ers, a very nice shared kitchen (with food items, freshly baked cake (!) and refreshments for purchase, quite handy), and clean rooms and bathrooms. I had an early departure one day, and was so nicely surprised to see a board in the kitchen listing each guest's breakfast order and departure time. And just like that - things were flawless when I had the first departure at 715 am (right as the morning staff settled in) along with my delicious fresh "cooked to order" eggs. That was operational brilliance. No fuss, smooth, and effective.

The pool and grounds were clean and enjoyable, there is a small common area with games / tv for kids, and as a single traveler, I felt so safe and comfortable.

We stayed here the first and last Night of
our trip to Namibia and Botswana.
They are helpfully and friendly .
The breakfirst is very good.
Everyday there is a fresh baked cake for
guests. Drink are in the cooler and you can
take them by your own- write on the list
and pay when you check out.

Rivendell was an excellent place to start and finish our holiday in Namibia, and the price was very reasonable. Staff were very welcoming and the rooms were very comfortable indeed, with excellent facilities including a lovely pool. The guest house is close to the town centre and walkable which was an added convenience.

Room Tip: Best rooms are rooms 1-4 by the pool

Really clean, great location (walking distance to Independence Avenue and main attractions), delicious breakfast. The common areas of the hotel are really nice (swimming pool, kitchen, living room, terrace). The staff (even the dogs and the cat) is kind and very helpful.

Notice to the ones staying in the single room, shared bathroom: the room is in the backyard (close to the swimming pool) and the bathroom is inside the house. So, you’ll need a flashlight in case you need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night...

Good day Patricia and thank you for your review. We are glad you had such and enjoyable stay with us and that you found our pets just as charming as we do.
Thank you for bringing this small matter of light at night to our attention as well. We switch off outside lights at 22:00 in the evening so that everyone can get a good nights rest. But I think we might have overlooked this matter of light for guests having the two shared bathroom facility rooms at the pool area, especially on cloudy and moonless nights with little light coming from the streetlights. We will look at putting flashlights in these two rooms from now on, to make nighttime journeys a little easier. :)
We hope to welcome you again in the future.
Kind Regards
Ciska
