This hotel has an excellent view over the City. Breakfast and dinner can be taken on the terrace. Food and wine list are excellent for those favouring modern cuisine. Rooms are spacious and well appointed although the pool is on the small side. A ten minute strol to the centerl

If you stay in Windhoek, this is the place to stay. Even the rooms are not very large, the service is great. The staff really try to accommodate you. You get a glas of champagne after arrival. Dinner is more than great and also the breakfast in one of the best in Namibia .The view from the terrace - where you can have breakfast and dinner - is great. Stay there.

Been here few times with clients and alone, quite posh and nostalgic, just 300 metres from crowdy downtown, but you feel safe and tranquil... Great view from teracce, nice food, a bit 3 stars service but guys need to work on it! Of course its more preferable to stay in the lodge but if you in town, stay here, its great!!

Don't get too excited if you are planning to stay here. It might be the best hotel in Windhoek, but compared to international standards it's mediocre. The rooms have an air of nostalgia, but are rather dark, the pool area is ok, not extremely nice. Service at the pool was slow and the chap kept forgetting things.
However, the terrace with the restaurant overlooks Windhoek and is worthwhile visiting, as well as the excellent restaurant. The service there was friendly and fast. Dinner was fantastic, and the breakfast very delicious, too. It's the food that gives the fourth Tripadvisor point
Overall a good place to stay for one night, that's all you need in Windhoek anyway.

Room tip: Try to get a room on the upper floors

Hotel Heinitzburg is a restored 1914 stone castle with unique medieval architecture. It is set on top of a hill in Windhoek. The hotel features a pool in a manicured garden, a wine cellar and two restaurants. There are 18 luxurious guest suites. The hotel is gated, with lots of security. The high iron fences and bars on the exterior windows are reminders that we are in a large city Africa.
After a HOT shower, (total heaven), we had drinks and played cards on the expansive hotel patio. The view was breathtaking. The entire city of Windhoek was stretched out below us.
We had breakfast on the beautiful terrace that overlooks the city of Windhoek. Numerous young, male waiters stood around joking and talking with one another. There were at least three waiters to every guest. The food was good.
