We arrived to Windhoek Country Club Resort ready for a cold drink and some relaxation before commencing our safari. We were graciously greeted with a cold fruit juice and a chilled and dampened washcloth, both most welcome! Our twin-bedded room was a reasonable (although not spacious) size, had a safe and a refrigerator. We do not care for duvets which seem standard in so many hotels around the world; fortunately, there were blankets in the closet which we used. The bathroom is attractive but rather cramped. The basin is quite small and the counter space difficult to use because there isn't enough of it! There are drawers for storing your toiletries under the sink/vanity. There is a deep tub, separate shower and separate toilet room within the bathroom itself. WiFi in the room works well.
The restaurant provided a marvelous buffet for dinner with a generous range of appetizers, salads and entrees to please all. There is a separate station with a selection of meats and fish from which you may choose what you want to be grilled by the cook at the grill. An interesting selection of vegetables are offered to complete your entrée. The dessert buffet offers several desserts plus a selection of ice cream flavors.

Room tip: If there is to be a party around the pool on the night you are staying, request a room away from the pool.

Our tour group arrived in Windhoek late evening and stayed overnight at this resort. Check in process was smooth, which we appreciated given the late hour. Rooms were modern and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. The lobby is ornate and large, and it looked like the grounds were beautiful, but we didn’t stay long enough to wander around. I don’t think the hotel is centrally located for walking to any nearby attractions. We left early the next morning after breakfast for the start of a great vacation in Namibia.

We stayed at the Windhoek Country Club on the first and last nights of an 8-day trip to Namibia. Rooms are modern and comfortable, on both nights we had a ground floor room which opened out into lovely peaceful gardens. Buffet-type breakfasts and dinner were good with plenty of choice. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We enjoyed our stays and would definitely stay here again.

Nice setting, friendly staff, good ambiance, food is good, but hotel is aging with visible signs of wear and tear. The big bugbear however is their rate, it is at least three times more expensive than comparative hotels in the same region. I will not be back.

Room tip: Rooms are acceptable, a bit small

This facility is a little out of the city so access via a car or similar is required. The setting is really delightful, quiet and lovely foyer with a nice shop, two ATMs. We were greeted with drinks upon arrival and the checkin was fast. The gardens and pool are delightful although the pool was cold (in August) and did have quite a bit of pollen and leaf litter floating on top. I stayed there twice within a few weeks. The first room overlooked the pool but the 'wall' between the bathroom and the bedroom was a sliding shutter which was not very private for two friends sharing. The second room was more spacious and private but not such a great view. Breakfast was simply amazing with huge variety of food and the evening meal was also very good.

Room tip: Ask for a room overlooking gardens or pool. They have outside door access.
