We spent our first night at Hotel Thule after a very long flight from London via Frankfurt.

What we needed was rest, and lots of it.

And that's exactly what we got at Hotel Thul; chosen by our tour guide Romy of Discover Namibia.

A bit of a trek from the centre of town, but well worth it.

The food and wine was excellent, waiters brilliant, and the accommodation clean, large and relaxing.

But the view from the main balcony was the centre piece at this place, and is a great place to eat and drink.

Parking is secure inside the compound.

Downside. Don't drive through the centre of town to reach. Use the main road.
The pool is for paddling, surely.
Woman on reception surly.

We spent the last night of our Namibia vacation at Hotel Thule and were very pleased with the fast, friendly service we got upon check-in. As it was a Sunday, the hotel's restaurant was closed, a disappointing fact to us, since we had heard very good things about it and were at a loss as to where to eat. The hotel management gave us a car and driver at no cost to take us into town to a restaurant of our choice where the driver made personally sure that we were seated quickly (the place was packed and would have required a long wait). After dinner, a phone call was enough, and the driver picked us up and took us back. Can't ask for better service. Well done, Hotel Thule!!

Room Tip: I don't think there are bad rooms. Some face the parking lot but are still quiet.

We went for our anniversary dinner. The hotel on a hill offers great view of the Windhoek city by night from the dinning hall. Food was great, fresh, tasty. The service was friendly and efficient. Good atmosphere and clean.

Nice view, wide rooms, great view. Cosy bar and lounge, terrace and pool available, good breakfast. Closed parking with a lot of space for the first-day of the tour vehicle check. Meeting room available for briefings.

Hotel Thule amazes with exceptional views of Windhoek city from its hill top position in one of the best neighbourhoods of Windhoek. Originally it has been a private luxury residence which got converted and extended to a hotel in the year 2000. The rooms we occupied during our two stays have been on the ground floor and had a decent size with aircon. Bathrooms have been clean and acceptable. The standard double bed though might not be wide enough for two people, just enquire at check in. All in all we got the feeling that a certain renovation in order to bring rooms up to current specs seems to be advisable. Staff is friendly and very helpful, especially when it comes to loading heavy luggage into your car. Within the main building you find an attractive restaurant with inside and outside seating on a very spacious patio which overlooks the city of Windhoek. We liked the place and will be back on our next trip to Windhoek.

Room Tip: Ground floor rear side
