Waited an hour for a bowl if soup, 40 minutes later and main course still hadn't arrived but every other table had been served before us, we walked out!!!! UGX 50,000 for 2 bowls of soup and 3 cool drinks, they won't see me again!

We live in Kampala and the place was definitely nicer when it had just opened its doors. It's funny, because sometimes the service and the staff threat you very well and sometimes it's absolutely rubbish (excuse the language). The setting is wonderful though and it's still a very nice place to hang around on a Sunday afternoon. The portions vary in size (when you order the same with some weeks in between) and the desserts were not nice the times i had one. It tasted like they came out of the freezer and were not fresh. For people with kids it's a nice place because there is a lot of space to play football. Overall I like to go there, but i never go with any expectations since it is so different every time I go. Ooh.. and if you go there with a group of around 10 (and you tell them in advance) expect to wait for your food longer than one and a half hour. My favorites on the menu are definitely the rack of ribs and the different burgers!

We make it out to The Bay every once in a while--usually on a Sunday since there isn't any traffic. We go pretty early (around 5 - 6pm) b/c we have a two year old and anything later than that, really bad things happen....Anyway, every time we go there is hardly anyone there and we order right away, but it ALWAYS takes over an hour to get our food. Not ideal with a toddler. We usually have to just inhale our food and book it out of there by the time we actually get it. Everyone I talk to has the same story too--just takes way too long.

Nice food, but portions are bit small. That's the only reason we rate this lower. The setting is perfect with a nice view over Lake Victoria. The place has a spacious garden reaching down to the lake side. A good place for a romantic candlit dinner.

I live in Uganda and i heard a lot about this place so after a hectic day in Kampala i decided to try The Bay restaurant in Munyonyo. Its location is just amazing with only a short drive from Kampala city center with a big beautiful garden overlooking the lake. Its quiet and tranquil setting give you an fantastic and relaxed atmosphere. The food is great and they have the best burgers i have eaten in Uganda. I highly recommend this place and i have found my favorite restaurant in Uganda.
