Set in the heart of Kireka, this gem of tranquillity is homely, with big spacious rooms and a lush well-tended to garden. There is ample parking, and because I did not have a vehicle of my own, transport was arranged for the places I needed to go. The house is well situated, up on a hill, with lots of trees behind a high wall and once you shut the gate behind you, you're in another tranquil world. There is a thatched hut on the same level as the house, where meals can be taken, or where you can sit under the shade with a cup of tea/coffee or a refreshing drink. Ideal for reading and doing some work before the sun sets. The rooms are reasonably sized, clean, and spotless and with comfortable beds and fans to keep you cool (not that you need those most of the time). The double beds had good mosquito nets and the showers were always hot. The staff were friendly and very helpful without being overbearing - nothing was too much trouble. AND . . . the house has solar power for those intermittent electricity interruptions.
