Description: Cocina Mitho Chha is a fine dining restaurant and a cookery school that offers scholarship to young people from local orphanages. Our Menu offers freshly prepared food fought in the local market, and is organic where possible. We hope our dishes present a modern Nepal style - a mixture of traditional tastes and flavors with a variety of dishes from Europe and Asia.

Small place but brilliant, not expensive (all taxes included) food on the back of their own cookery school. A must.

Wow, that is the only way to describe our 5 nights here. Debendra runs a great B&B and restaurant here. On our first day he explained what it is that he does. He provides underprivileged children, like orphans, with a chance to learn a profession. He takes them in for free and teaches them all about hospitality. He pays for this with the profit he makes from the B&B and the restaurant. So all the money you spend here goes to education of these kids.

When we arrived we were welcomed by his students. They took our bags to our room and we sat down for lunch. We had a great lunch here. First tried the momo's and a salad and if was just fantastic . We ate most of our meals here the rest of our stay.

We also did a cooking class here. First we got an introduction into the Nepalese language before we got started. After we finished the language class Debendra kept on starting conversations in Nepalese so we'd remember. We learned to make a great fish curry, potato salad, Dahl, rice, spinach dish and a lot more. The chefs, were patient and friendly. Made sure we understood it all and wrote down all the recipes so we can try it back home.

The guys who were our waiters here were fenomanal. They are eager to learn and really want to help. I got to know them a little and they love what they do and the opportunity they received. After their training is done they are placed elsewhere to continue to learn.

So please visit this wonderful place not far from Thamel. If it's not to support the cause than just for a great meal.

My first stay in Nepal and did not disappoint me... Before i was booking i was skeptical how what where ! but Debendra the host made it so comfortable for me that i couldnt have asked for more. The rooms are neat and clean, not super big but well lit and airy. The outside area for sitting and relaxing is fantastic.. the Chef is there for your demands and he can serve the best in the most interesting manner and you could not have asked for more.

The team is fantastic and i would surely recommend to stay here once as it will be one of a very different experience to Stay around a cooking school where food is the essence of stay :)

Visited today for a relaxed lunch. Nepali Food and hospitality was amazing !! The best part was to understand the ethos of the place from Debendra himself. Must visit destination if you are in Kathmandu. Icing on the cake is to know that your money will be spent for a social cause. Kudos to the team !!
