“Relax in the city”
Reviewed 21 May 2012

We stayed here for 5 nights and cannot fault it. The reception team were friendly and welcoming, there is a lovely garden with dining area to eat or just relax and the room was cleaned properly every day. There is free internet access and wifi, and the staff can help you arrange excursions/taxis if you need.
The hotel is in a good location, about 5 minutes walk from Thamel in one direction and Durbar Sq in the other. Cost-wise it is budget range but not dirt cheap. We stayed in several slightly more expensive places in Kathmandu and elsewhere in Nepal, and none matched this hotel in terms of quality. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other travellers.

STAY HERE. The quality of service at this hotel ranks a resounding 5 stars for me. In addition to all of the reasons others have stated in their reviews, I would say the best part for me was the staff. My friend and I used this hotel as our home base while in Nepal. We stayed for a total of four nights (one night I was alone). There is a beautiful garden in the back to have your meals. I addition, there are several balconies AND a rooftop for you to find some alone time. The staff made me feel as if I lived there, so much so that I felt like crying when I left! For breakfast, for example, they ask, "the usual, madam?" because they pay attention.

When my friend left Nepal early, I decided to visit the Pashupathinat temple, close to the airport. The hotel staff person arranged it so that I could "hitch" a ride for free with two of other guests traveling to the airport! Re location, I liked that it is located a bit away from central Thamel because it's a bit more serene and less hectic. (Be ware though that Thamel streets can get very dark at night when the power goes out, which can be a bit scary walking alone back to the hotel) I will definitely be recommending this hotel for any traveler visiting Nepal regardless of budget. I wish the staff could win an award for making our stay so comfortable.

Room Tip: corner suite is large and sunny.

I loved this hotel! it is not cheap (to say the least) and might be a tiny bit too fancy for a budget traveller like myself, but i very much enjoyed it. the staff is super nice and friendly, i loved them all. the location was good too, as it is not in Thamel but close enough, and also just a few blocks away from Durbar sq.
The restaurant in the garden is great and the food was very good, even though a bit pricey. the waiters are awesome and even though its a large hotel, they knew me already the second day.
My room was in the back building which was great as the front building gets a lot more noise, so i heard. you should try to stay in the back building. the room was amazing, with soft beds and a super bathroom. the hot shower was the best!

A pure joy to stay here, it's close to Thamel but with a beautiful garden its a very relaxing place. The interior is beautiful and very clean, and the staff is very helpful without pushing their services.

Room Tip: Some noisy dogs in the street, the rooms towards the courtyard are probably a bit quieter

I strongly recommend this lovely hotel. The people who own it are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are nicely kept, there are computers available for free Internet use, hot and cold mineral water available for free (help reduce the plastic bottle mounds!!) and plenty of fellow travelers to be met. However the dogs can be a bit loud at night as there are open areas nearby. It's off the beaten track slightly, about ten minutes away from Thamel down Chettrapatti Chowk. Book early as they are almost always full to capacity during peak season!

the location of the hotel is excellent. i stayed in this hotel for first time in 2012....and i am advising my friends to book this hotel for best service. the staffs are very friendly . the reception is also very friendly. i don't know how one can say that the reception is very poor however i got the best services from the reception. the free wi-fi service also attracted me. after all it was a joy to stay with them.

Me and my friend stayed here in february 2012. We booked a luxury room, but when we arrived we found out we got upgraded to the suite (for free). The room was huge, clean and light. It's a short walk to the centre of Thamel. The staff is helpfull and there is a garden where you can have breakfast or a drink. This place is a great value for money.
