The major upside about AT Hotel is its location. It is a five minute walk to Taipei 101 and Taipei 101 Station. It is also very near (walking distance) to Shinyi Shopping and Entertainment District, as well as the Linjiang night market. The quality of the hotel building and rooms are really poor. There is no hotel lobby to speak of--only a small sitting area facing the elevator with 2 chairs and a small table. The building seems to be old and not well maintained. The hallways are dark (with only dim yellow lighting), dirty, and seems like an extended storage of housekeeping. You will see boxes of recycled plastic bottles, dirty linens, and housekeeping carts scattered along the hallway as soon as the elevator opens. The carpet also looks very very dirty The rooms with one double bed are really small, but the ones with two single beds are a bit bigger. Sound proofing is very bad. You can hear the honking vehicles and motorcycles along the road all night, as well as the sound of people walking and banging the doors along the corridor. I think this is because the partitions in between rooms are actually just wooden board (and not a concrete wall) so you can hear all the noises coming from the other rooms. The carpets in the room are old and dirty. It would even be better if they just remove the carpet all together. The room is also very dark (with dim yellow lighting) and I can hardly see myself clearly in the mirror. I hope the management will do some renovation and improve the quality of the room.
