This place is the PERFECT cheap stopover for Suvarnabhumi airport. We got in in the evening after a weeklong trip around Thailand and had an early morning flight. The resort is very nicely decorated and well set up. It's a 5 minute walk to a HUGE night market and a few restaurants. So you're still enjoying Thailand but not having to commute to the airport early in the morning. Shuttle both ways is fast and convenient. Rooms are good basic rooms - clean, cable tv. Bathroom is clean, basic. We fortunately had clean towels and sheets. Breakfast is toast and coffee but our waitress was very sweet. We were two couples so we enjoyed sitting in the various seating areas around the hotel. BEWARE THE MOSQUITOES! Don't leave your door open, don't sit outside after 9pm.

Beds are a little hard which we were prepared for from other reviews, but we slept fine on them.

This was a very nice hotel with good amenities that provided excellent transportation to and from the airport. Much better accommodations than I expected for the price and the local neighborhood is much more interesting than you'd imagine if you like to wander around. Lots of great little restaurants around the [big] corner.

The only positive feature of this hotel is a free transfer from/to airport. The rest was a nightmare. The most shocking in the rooms was condition of bed linen and towels. I have never seen such old, dirty and torn linen. We had to dry ourselves without towels and sleep dressed! Besides, an incredible number of mosquitoes added to the "pleasure" of spending a night at Thong Ta. Breakfast was included in the room rate (fried eggs, toast with jam and coffee/tea), served promply by a wairtess who had a "leave me alone" expression on her face - which we have not experienced any place else during our 5 trips to Thailand.
The hotel is cheap and we did not expect luxury, but this is below any standards! There are other hotels close to the airport, where you get decent room and service at the same price.

We stayed at this place for one night while changing flights to Phuket. They provide free shuttles to and from the airport with every booking. I booked the hotel online and provided my Flight Details for a pickup. Though i had to call them to confirm the same, but the pickup did take place on time and their minivan was waiting for me when my flight landed.

Situated at around 15 minutes away from BKK, this place is an excellent airport hotel. Being away from the city is an added advantage as there is practically no traffic in the area. Though the area around the airport has ATM's, Foodjoints, Bars, etc., it does not have any currency exchange booth.

On checking, we were greeted by polite staff who guided us to our room in the resort section. This is a small resort but has all the amenities any international traveler would require. If you would like to eat Authentic Thai Street Food, you can walk over to the food court/stall around the corner which serves excellent food till late night. There is a 7/11 Store nearby for other amenities. The next day, our airport shuttle was right on time and dropped us to the airport.

Room Tip: Stay in the resort section(Groun Floor)

This hotel is a fantastic option for a one night stop over. We reached Bangkok from Phuket late in the evening and had to catch a flight next morning. They have a team awaiting near gate 3 who will help you reach the hotel in their shuttle maxi cabs. Checkin was quick and we were shown to our rooms. Only disadvantage - No lifts. They had to carry our luggage upstairs. Not that it was inconvenient for me though. The rooms were very nice with a lot of woodwork. They had 24 hr room service and I was able to order dinner at 2 AM. Try the Green Chicken Curry. It was the best I ever tried. Dinner followed with a late night Thai Body massage (20% discount for hotel guests) and is highly recommended. Would recommend this place to everyone.

Room Tip: Try rooms on lower floors as there is no elevator

Although not quite a "resort", it's still a good place for a one-night stopover to/from BKK airport. They provide complimentary shuttle service to/from the airport every 30 minutes, so it's convenient to go to the airport the evening before your departure then take the shuttle to the hotel. I previously stayed at another airport hotel (Great Residence) that had shuttles to the airport only once every hour, so the 30 min. schedule here is much better. Wake-up call early in the morning was spot-on; did not get to experience the breakfast (included) which starts at 6am. Rooms are nice, free Wifi and coffee/tea is great, friendly staff. Good price too; don't really know what else you'd want from an airport hotel.

It's quite far from the main part of downtown Bangkok however and not close to the SkyTrain, so I wouldn't suggest staying here if you want to see Bangkok - taxi to downtown will cost about the same as from the airport (about Thb 300, but without the airport surcharge). Cheaper than a taxi is the Airport Rail Link to/from the airport for Thb 150, and you could use their shuttle to get to/from the airport. But for 1 night's stay with a late night arrival or early morning departure, it's hard to go wrong here.

My wife and I stayed at Thong Ta on our first and last night in Bangkok. I wouldn't exactly call this a "resort", but you'll find hotels, guest houses, and resorts are often interchangeable terms in Thailand. In a nutshell, here are some pros and cons:

Pros:
Includes free roundtrip transfers to BKK (Suvarnabhumi Airport)
Free "American Breakfast" (eggs, toast, coffee/juice, ham, and a hot dog)
Free WiFi
Near Lat Krabang Night Market
Relatively cheap (between $19 to $24 USD a night)

Cons:
Hard mattresses (appears to be the norm in Thailand)
Towels are thin, scratchy, and a bit dirty
Showers are lukewarm
Lots of mosquitoes

I would consider Thong Ta to be a good pit stop on your way to or from the airport, but I would not stay for more than a night. One of the reasons we chose Thong Ta was for their free transfers from BKK. If you prearranged a pickup you can find their representatives between gates 3 to 4 after exiting from baggage claim/customs. The vans they use are fully air conditioned and could probably hold 7 to 8 passengers with luggage. From the hotel, the vans leave every hour on the hour. You can request to leave at other times, but they will charge a fee for doing so.

As for the rooms, we stayed in the older section where their gift shop used to be located, so it was all on the first floor. The rooms were clean and air conditioned, but the beds were hard and uncomfortable. Hard mattresses seem to be the defacto standard for most lower-end Thai hotels/guest houses. There is a mini-fridge in each room stocked with soft drinks, bottled water, and Red Bull. The water is complimentary while it costs about 25 baht (almost $1USD) for soft drinks. The rooms use small water heaters, so the showers are not very hot. Surprisingly, the Wifi reception was good compared to other hotels we've stayed at in Thailand. Be on the lookout for mosquitoes and keep your doors/windows closed as many seem to sneak in from outside.

Speaking of outside, there are some bars, restaurants, and a swap meet (Lat Krabang Night market) all within walking distance. I highly recommend checking out the night market, especially if you're looking for some authentic and cheap Thai food. To get there from Thong Ta, walk out to the main road (Lat Krabang) and turn right (opposite of 7 Eleven). Follow Lat Krabang road going past the intersection and Yamaha dealership. The market is near the overpass. It's a great market with lots of variety and very few tourists.

All in all, Thong Ta is a very affordable and convenient stay, but keep your expectations realistic. This isn't the Novotel, but of course, you're also not paying Novotel prices.
