“Excellent Value for Money!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2012

This is perhaps one of the very few times that I have opted to stay in a serviced apartment as opposed to a hotel room and given the experience here I am more than willing to make this a habit! The apartment was extremely well appointed, spacious, clean and with all the kit that you would expect to see and perhaps more. The only slight issue was the delay in room service or house keeping to respond but beyond which it had very friendly staff, a close to perfect location (opposite a supermarket, not too far from the action and not in the middle of the chaos that is sukhumvit road) plus all your dirty dishes and pans would magically be clean when you came back from shopping!

Room Tip: Pick the executive suite on a higher floor and one which faces the main road.

This tower is full of small apartments for executives families and visitors. The apartments are a bit spartan but in good condition. The service is pleasant, helpful and unobtrusive. There is a great rooftop pool on the ninth floor with views over Sukhumvit. It is a short walk from the Thong Lor sky train station. The only weak point is that breakfast is much less varied than you would expect in a hotel of similar size and quality. But you could easily buy your own at the excellent supermarket across the road.

Room Tip: Rooms facing away from Thonglor are a bit queter but it doesn't make much difference on the high...

I stayed here with my family for three nights and my experience was good. It is a studio apartment and the building architecture is modern. The check-in and check-out was super quick. The rooms are not very large but yes they are comfortable and equipped with every thing that you would need, I mean they have a small but fully equipped kitchenette with a dining table. The staff was courteous. They have a beautiful TUK TUK to take you around for short distances. The restaurant is Japanese and the breakfast was decent. The Thais are the politest people that you will ever meet. The location is the best you can ask for, it has a supermarket across the street with a few other restaurants around. Don't miss the 24 hour restaurant Took Dae Lee at Foodland which is a few buildings away.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor to view the awesome Bangkok skyline.

I stayed in an Executive Studio Apartment at Somerset Sukhumvit Thonglor for 3 nights in Sep 2011.

Taking a cab from the airport to the Serviced Apartments, it was relatively easy to get there due to the building being a high-rise with a blue somerset logo and hence easy to spot. Somerset Thonglor is located in an excellent location - opposite the apartments is a supermarket, wine shop & some restaurants that open till wee hours if not 24 hours. Within 5 mins walk is also one of the best mango sticky rice in Bangkok.

The reception checked us in quite quickly and the bell boy brought our baggage up to the apartments.

Everything in the apartment - furniture, furnishings and fittings were all spotlessly clean, new and plush looking. There was a kitchen which you can do some cooking (house-keeping helps to wash the dishes and pots every day), dining area, sofa, huge TV, and a balcony with a pool view. Even the bed was relatively soft and comfy.

Breakfast was beside the pool area, they have a nice spread (mixed of Japanese & Western food) that you won't get sick of having for 3 days.

While Somerset Thonglor is not within quick walking distance to the BTS, they have a tuk-tuk which arrives almost immediately when you need to take a ride out and is less than 5 minutes away from the BTS, in fact they can drop you at 2 different BTS stations.

Overall, Somerset Thonglor is a great serviced apartment to stay in, it is really spacious, new, comfortable and very affordable. It is very much UNDER-RATED in tripadvisor rankings and is pretty much an undiscovered gem of an accomodation to be in.

It is almost perfect except 1) Pool is a little too cold to have a dip in unless it is really sunny. 2) Never book tours/shows with the hotel as they refer you to tour agencies which charge exorbitant prices - best to book your tours/shows online or call them yourselves.

We booked a flat at the Somerset Sukhumvit Thonglor and we really enjoyed the appartment.

2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a nice size living room and kitchen.

We had a flat on the 31st floor and the view was AMAZING !

It has a great location, loads of restaurants in the area, 5 minute walk to the TBS station when the tuk-tuk is not available. There are 2 supermarkets within walking distance.

Only drawback is the breakfast. A little poor for this kind of residence.

The serviced apartments are Somerset Thonglor are new as of early 2010. I have stayed at this hotel/apartments a number of times and couldn't be happier. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, well designed with modern furniture and are generally finished to a high standard. I normally stay at 5 star international business hotels but when I am in Bangkok stay with Somerset Thonglor.

Room Tip: I prefer the layout of the
