“A memorable night at Dusit Thani”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2012

I stayed 1 night in 2-bedroom suite at Dusit Thani, nothing else to say but perfect. The room is very beautiful, decorated in Thai style. All furnitures are luxury ones. Everything is awesome.

At the top of Silom Road, near to Lumpini Park and across from the Patpong Night market. Nice hotel with lovely restaurants. As in most Thai hotels, the service is impeccable

Every time we come here we feel warmly welcomed by the nice and friendly staff. This time we enjoyed the club-lounge benefits. Free canapés and drinks in the evening, a very tasty breakfast in the Italian Restaurant. Skytrain and Metro station are just around the corner- perfect to explore Bangkok. The rooms are big and clean, the pool area is quite small but totally fine. It is a very traditional Hotel, during our stay the Princess of Thailand had lunch at one of the Restaurants. There a many massage spas around, Patpong and all kinds of restaurants in walking distance. There are many Hotels in Bangkok which are more modern, but the Dusit Thani has a special atmosphere which is unique. We can´t wait to visit Bangkok again :)

The exterior, the lobby, grounds, restaurants all very plush and rich looking, but this was not reflected in room. Almost felt like we were not taken seriously because we were dressed casually in shorts - majority of guests were in suits and formal dress! Booked through hotels.com and prepaid with credit card - our second night being a hotels.com "free night". I have done this several times before in the U.S. and had no problems especially when everything has been prepaid but the gal at the check-in insisted we had to provide a "voucher" for our free night. In the end we gave her a hard copy, that I just happened to have with me, of the reservation!
Room was spacious but the carpet was dirty, just no other way to describe it. But we only had 36 hours to explore Bangkok and did not want to waste it changing rooms so we just used the slippers the hotel provided.
However, our first night we woke up cold and realized that the AC was not operating correctly. We turned it off, and then were too hot. We reported it and asked them to look at it which they promptly did. Someone looked at it, worked on it and declared the thermostat fixed, said it would switch off in about 15 minutes. It did not fix the problem, so we asked for extra bedding, which was provided on the second request.
The room was quiet, the kettle and tea tray was a bonus, bathroom well stocked, but just felt that when a hotel puts so much money into lobby and shared facilities the room could have been so much better.

At checkout, I got charged 30 baht for a broken drinking glass.

It had slipped out of my hand when I was brushing my teeth. Yes, my fault, however, no other 5 star hotel would think to charge a customer for something like that! Very petty indeed!

finished a tour of Thailand at this hotel and found it superb. Staff were all incredibly friendly, room large , spotless and the most comfortable bed I have slept in for ages. We went for a club room as was only little more expensive but included free breakfast. This included a huge buffet option as well as cooked food to order in a separate restaurant to the main hotel restaurant so plenty of seating and quiet. Also allowed access to the club lounge with free internet access, tea , coffee , nibbles all day and had a 2 hour evening session of cocktails and canopes. Top notch margaritas and staff actively encouraged you to have more! Location also great being right next to both a sky train and metro station so easy access to all the main sites. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and will definitely stay hear again next time in Bangkok.

First visit to the Dusit Thani .After a long flight it was a pleasure to be greeted and escorted to the club room private check in.The club room and facilities given ie free soft drinks all day ,canapes each evening, great breakfast to start each day, free use of club lounge make it a must to book the club room option.
The room/suite allocated to us was exceptional as was the service of all the staff, who were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Room Tip: Club room well worth the extra cost.
